Jimin earned a #1 in billboard hot100 today. BTS as a group has six #1 on Billboard Hot100... Jimin is the first BTS members to get a number one as a solo artist and with a debut song. Namjoon earned his fourth #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 as a songwriter. Non american artist did that, it's an historical moment. Now that we know it's possible, our next goal it's to give every BTS member a #1 on hot100. That would be awesome! 🥳💜

I think the other members' understanding of English has always been greater than their confidence in their abilities to use it. I think a lot of times Joon will nudge them because he knows practicing is the best way to improve. Jin studied in Australia for a few months when he was younger so I believe he has the basics but is just rusty for lack of use, but notice he's usually the second most talkative in English interviews. And there's a running joke that Suga is secretly fluent because he can be seen laughing at jokes or starting to answer questions before Joon even translates.

As an addendum, Namjoon was born and raised in Korea too, his English is self-taught. And he himself has said that it's harder to keep up the language skills without people/environment to practice. The first time the went to the US for the BBMAs in 2017, he was so stressed trying to represent the team properly, field subtly racist and xenophobic comments, be a leader, but yeah...he admitted In a live how after that day, he had a horrible headache and ended up calling ameeting, telling the guys that he's just like them, his mother language is Korean too....they felt sorry and bad for him and promised to work harder and learn some English for them. It's gotten better over the years. They now have an actual translator with them most of them time, whose job it is to help them out. And ARMYs try to tell them that it's fine, we're here for their music, not their English skills, don't stress about it. But they've all greatly improved in English! Many of them are taking lessons. RM never really took special lessons like that, so sometimes you can see him fumble for a word or see his brain get tired, but the man's a genius, you can just tell that he's self taught. So sometimes he'll have the most complex vocabulary, but it'll be easier for him to write than to string together sentences on the spot. His grammar is good tho, but sometimes you can tell from the syntax that he started with Korean

Yoongi's new album drops on 21st, it's almost 20 days so I believe extending RM week is a good idea. You can check out his collaboration songs, compilation etc ( btw he is called God of destruction by us because of how clumsy he so you might want to react to it too). 9:22 they have labelmate juniors known as TXT / tomorrow by together who they love and adore a lot, and was their company's first group in a long time after BTS. a lot of ppl expected them to be "the next BTS" but I would say that group stands on their own feet perfectly well, and don't try to be BTS. Besides TXT, there have been PLENTYYYYY of attempts by other big companies to cash in on BTS' success and name to promote their own new groups as "the next BTS" or "avengers of Kpop" or whatever and have never really seen success in that route because BTS' success has been extremely organic and kind of non-formulaic and mildly unpredictable at times. You just cannot replicate the accidental fateful popularity explosion and genuine fan love these guys generate.

That's a really amazing commentary on rm's music and i'm always here for such commentary. and lemme tell you korean media has always been ass and never hyped bts. all they do is publish bad articles on bts because they are so pressed that they made it to the top without the help of k media. bighit has never payed any of the media outlets to cover their news, while other agencies do. that's the reason why korean media always downplay the success of bts. let me give you an example. when bts bagged a grammy nomination, the amount of articles that praised bts are very less BUT when they didnt win the grammy, the amount of articles that wrote "BTS failed to win a grammy" are 10 times more than the good articles published. But you know, being a south korean artist (asian) receiving a grammy nomination itself is an acheivement. And again when BTS won ARTIST OF THE YEAR at the American music awards, they wrote articles like it's the acheivement of the country. Also korean politicans too always tried to take advantage of bts. Also the media outlets always pushed the NEXT BTS agenda on the k-pop groups they wanted, that made a little noise on the charts, also the agencies. i remeber blackpink being called the next bts by their own agency and many other korean media outlets pushed this agenda and rubbed on my faces and the billboard too. but little did they know, bts is not just only 7 good looking men, but heavily talented, that can write, produce and compose their own stuff, that are highly philosophical and charitable. Also they should know that not every group/artist can become bts.
