Oh wow...uncle roger and tribe Loui! Love it! I’ve seen these episodes before but your laughing got me laughing harder! Oh my you have to watch his Jamie Oliver videos?.specially the fried rice and the butter chicken and you will see why they are arch enemy! I’m Asian and lived most of my life in Canada so I can super relate to a lot of his complaints! MSG is a flavour enhancer that is in a lot of prepared food like chips and flavour cubes. It’s used in a lot of Asian cooking but it got a bad reputation when people started to complain about getting headache when they eat at Chinese restaurants...then people in the food industry in the west stopped using the pure form of msg! So now instead we use buillon cubes or flavouring mix that is actually filled with msg!

never would’ve thought my worlds would collide LOL. i’m from singapore, a neighbouring country of Malaysia (which is where Uncle Roger, or rather comedian Nigel Ng is from) and we share many cultural similarities. He’s hilarious at making sure asian food is properly cooked and for our ancestors and futures 😂😂 just a note: uncle roger is an exaggerated character in his mid to late 50s and schooled different so the accent is super exaggerated too lol (nigel ng is actually late 20s/early 30s) and the younger generation doesn’t speak in such a strong accent lol if u ever come to this part of the world in southeast asia, or to singapore, i’ll bring u around to eat some real good food tribe loui!! (u could do a stopover before flying to korea for BTS concert in 2025! haha!) also yes we use “haiyaaa” a lot! 😂😂

Uncle Roger is a guilty pleasure. In Asian culture if you are an Aunty or Uncle if you are older. If close in age the brother or sister. You don’t need to be related. I probably have more than 50 that call me Aunty. When meeting someone even for the first time you would still use that form of address it is polite. Might want to check out Zach Rushing. White guys first time at a black cookout and Mama T’s Fish fry. Of course any uncle Rodger is great. His stand up is good as well.

actually it’s not the same sentiment. “haiyaa” has more of an exasperated sentiment whereas “aigoo” in korean has more of a sympathetic sentiment (a bit more like “oh no”) source: i’m from that culture that says “haiyaaa” 😆 i would say the equivalent of “aigoo” in korean in my culture would be “aiyoo”
