So I finally copped the StormBox. I love it. Mainly because the form factor. The sound is great too. SB being multidirectional is a pulse too. It’s my on the go speaker. Fits perfectly in my water bottle holder on my bike. With all that said I prefer the sound on the MaxSound Plus. The clarity and balance is insane, especially considering the price. I had the Flip 4 for awhile before getting the MSP and it felt like I upgraded sound wise, which is weird considering it’s half the price. Depending on what you’re looking for, both speaker a great budget options.

2a YK you didn't make the wrong choice. The Tribit xboom/Stormbox sound is immersive and fills a room. It's pretty impressive and cheaper then purchasing a JBL flip 4. That was the selling point for me as I want a versital speaker but didn't want to spend over $100 CDN for a Bluetooth speaker.

Exactly my experience. Max sound plus sounds great, very neutral, very clean, excellent bass with xbass on. But it's sounds bit brittle in the highs and the midrange sounds congested and thin. Plus it lacks much stereo image. I much prefer my tribit stormbox micro, sounds lovely, going to try the full size stormbox and if I like it return the micro...

Maybe it's because the 360 sound bounces off walls indoors better so it sounds more ambient. Still, I'm pretty happy with my Maxsound.

Nice review. Still like the Soundmax better. The stormbox puts music out in 2 different directions which is great if it's in the middle of a circle of people. But for indoor use most will want the Typical single direction configuration

@@BruceLeroyUK I liked it so much, I bought 5 more! 1 for my daughter; 2 for my two trainers, (husband and wife), 1 for my son, and one for my brother. I even gave my trainer both the JBL Flip 5 and the Stormbox, and he CHOSE the Stormbox as the better sounding speaker. I own JBL speakers, and the Flip is one of my faves.

you remember than xboom is a bit more expensive ? The most important thing in Maxsound plus flat characteristic of sound , so for many people more bass and treble is more interesting than hi-fi style sound ?

Clearly you don't have these I have both and the plus sounds like listening to someone sing inside of a tin can, it is extremely harsh and hard to listen to. The stormbox is good enough to at least listen to.

I'll try the xboom... I have the xsound go and it sounds terrible to me. Exactly like listening to a tin can. It sounds extremely compressed, like all of your favorite singers performing inside of a coke can. I'll try the one you suggested because I experienced the exact same issues you described with the xsound go. It has plenty of good reviews but I'm pretty sure that's bc people either read it was good or really don't pay attention to music quality. Anyway, thanks for the suggestion I'll give it a shot.

Everyone appreciates the comparison, but honestly, why no sound test ? I find it hard to believe the Maxsound sounds like a tin can vs the Xboom for 15 dollars more. Update with a sound test.

I appreciate the feedback. Just don't have the proper equipment to give an adequate sound test. Also, I wonder what value that really provides since what a person listen to it on would likely be on their phone or PC. No real reproduction. I appreciate it though. Thanks for the feedback and I'll do my best to keep improving.
