Every year i buy a new pair for like 15 years. Hope one day they'll make a version with replaceable cable. Btw i would recommend to never buy black version from mass drop, cable is even worse on those, despite them being pricier.

I have 58X and 6XX The latter is a bit tricky with smartphone, but I have better luck with MTK based smartphone and tablet without amplifier under most situations. I also have modified 58X and it's universal (almost all devices I have can be used) Both are my favorite I tried 560S but I don't like it

Hi , since this message 8 months ago, I since modified my 6xx with custom cans bass mod which do improve the bass, at the moment in Uk 650 is now available for £229, so it’s a good buy, I also have 660s which I now use on ifi dac, I also changes both headphones with thicker pads too . Regards mark

Is it really a genuine 4.4 mm balanced cable coz there are a lot of fake ones out there?

@@fisherman9435 I too had asked genuinely. Didn't get answers but I have my answer from experience now. It does wonders with my Hiby R5ii. It's a great cable. Nothing fake about it. And on 4.4mm balanced it delivers the ampjuice that it is supposed to so much so that now I have forgotten about my single ended cables.

i actually wanted that long cable for my setup, but received a short cable with my 560s. i think a lot of things have changed since the initial release of the 560s, many have said they are treble boosted or harsh... not true! my experience with them has been nothing but wonderfully flat and clear from a music creators standpoint.

Sure, if you are using 560S to listen to youtube videos, it's going to suck to an extent. However, with high quality (CD quality minimum) music, use the 560S and it's outstanding. And very pleasant even with brightness up top. And by far one of the BEST bass responses and extensions seen in open backs. Your experience of the 560S is entirely opposite of mine. This also highlights HOW you use headphones matters. Like even the amps/dac you connect it to and your source quality.

I recently bought the 6xx and I also have hd560s they both sound great, I tend to use 6xx with ifi zen dac v2 but the bass does come alive with bass button the the zen dac. I think he 560 is an around phone now going for about £130, but I agree 6xx slight better but as w said depends what music. Unfortunately the 6xx doesn’t now come in a hinged box but standard box abd the cable is now 1.8m(6ft) and made in Romania. Great video. Regards mark

The Kph 30i with the grado pad mod is the only way to go with these headphones. SO much more comfortable. Overall sound volume is decreased slightly so you’ll have to adjust for that. Bass level seems better but not to basshead level whatsoever. I left the original pads on. Some have taken them off. Others have cut holes in them ect ect. I would say to try them with the original foam and if they sound good to you then just leave them that way. These headphones will last a long time if you are careful with them. ALLWAYS put them on and take them off with BOTH hands. DO NOT twist the headband. It will break if you do that. Just treat them with care and you will be fine. I love these headphones.

Dude: I bought that same cable and it is complete GARBAGE! My cable failed within 2 weeks and I threw it away completely disgusted. After about a week I noticed that this cable had my Focal Elegias sounding flat. Upon inspection I found the 4.4 interconnect failed because of flimsy cheap plastic. You must pay the cost to be the boss...Get a Hart audio cable for $65.

How is the durability of the KPH30? I mean it looks cheaply made... I'm afraid of getting one of these (which are almost impossible to get in Argentina and also curiosly expensive to ship here) and get it broken soon. Thanks

They are notorious for breaking on the headband where you adjust it sadly. Its where it transitions from a solid piece of plastic to two strips with a gap in the middle

I tried them and found they took all the character out of the sound. All the punch in the kick was gone from my PortaPro. I'd rather use Grado SR60 if I'm going for the bigger pads with wider sound.

The ideal frequency response for fidelity is one that is perfectly flat to the average human ear. What sounds perfectly flat to the human ear depends on the SPL. So the ideal frequency response for each range of SPL can easily be measured. The result of these measurements is called Equal Loudness Contours. Keep in mind Equal Loudness Contours are different for headphones vs speakers. BTW I have an audio engineering degree. I have measured and triple checked that the Sennheiser 560s/HD400 Pro is PERFECTLY FLAT to the human ear (EQUAL LOUDNESS CONTOUR @ STUDIO REFERENCE LEVEL 83db-87db average peak).

I Return Every KOSS Headphone Accept For The KPH30i Blue/White Variant They Were To Me The Overall Best Sounding . Here's Another AweSomeNess PerSoNiFied Headphone Below . . . . . . I Listened To My My Q45 Wired Passively Powered Off With No Issue At All As Soon As I Got Them And The Sound Is Amazing Wired Powered Off . . . . . SoundCore Space Q45 My Take For Wired Passive Listening I'm Using ZFold3 To Hidizs S9 Pro DAC AMP DONGLE To Space Q45 And WOW AweSomeNess PerSoNiFied . The Q45 ANC is really good SoundCores best yet Right Up There With My XM3s . The Space Q45 sound while punchy is not as punchy as the Life Q35 In The Bass Department . The Bass Up Feature can't currently be used with Custom EQs So it's Pointless for my Uses . We Can Listen To These Wired Passively (Powered Off) And The Q45s Sound Absolutely Amazing This Way . The LDAC Sounds Really Good And Gives Wired Listening A Run For It's Money . We Lose Many Features Of The Life Q35 With The Space Q45 . Hopefully A Firmware Update(s) Will Give These Lost Functions To The Q45 . The Q45s Are Heavier With Much Less Cushioning On The Top Where As The Q35 Are Lighter With More Cushioning On Top So Comfort Goes To Q35 . Both Q35 And Q45 Have Excellent Sound With The Q45 Punching Hard And The Q35 Punching Harder . I Enjoy Them Both . Amazon Has Q35 111 Dollars With Discounts And Q45 129 dollars With Discounts . You Can Turn Up The Q45s Bass With Custom EQs But Nothing I've Done Has Made The Q45s As Punchy As The Q35s . For Most I Think You'll Be More Than Happy With The Q45s Bass . I Know I Am . A Blue Variant And A White Variant Are Said To Be Forthcoming So I'll Most Def Be Snagging Them In White .

I'm buying these as a tool for mixing and EQing (via PC) recorded live concerts. I need that flat "boring audiophile" linear response for that. Yeah, I'll have to tame that 5KHz bump a bit with my Schiit Loki EQ to begin with as a starting point. I think for the price ($150 now in August 2022) they'll do that job nicely. For pleasure listening I can use the Loki EQ to bump up the bass or later on, I'm looking at the HiFiMan Sundara at $350 for "fun" music listening. As you said, "the perfect tool for a specific job". Thanks.

I'm currently wearing my KOSS KSC75s Watching OddTaxi Anime When Your Video Shows Up At The Top . I Recently Acquired The Koss KPH40 , KPH30i , Porta Pro & KSC75 Which I Ordered The Same PartsExpress Band Your KSC75 Are On .Putting The KSC75 On A Band Makes These Usable Especially After Putting The YAXI PADS on My KSC75s Because They Are At That Point To Thick To Go On My Ears Using The Clips . The KSC75 Are The Least Sound Wise In My Opinion But Still Have Very Enjoyable Sound . The KOH30i Also Has Such A Nice Sound With The KPH40 Having The Best Sound Over All And The Porta Pros Have The Strongest Bass .

if you didn't do the test blind, then everything you think you heard is in your mind..sorry to burst your bubble. if you look at 3rd party measurements of this Ufi Zen DAC (v1, not v2, mind you), going to balanced actually adds more distortion (around 3db, which is hardly audible), but adds 160% more available power. So if plug in an unbalanced cable, and increase the volume, at some point it will run out of available power from the headphone amp, before the amp distorts and hits a hard limit. If you change your cable to be a balanced one, the unbalanced headphone output of the Ifi allows you to turn up the same headphones to 160% higher volume, before the amp distorts and has a hard limit. In other words, if the distortion is very close on both, then you won't be able to tell the difference between unbalanced and balanced cable (assuming both are playing the same volume). Now, if Ifi improved v2 over v1 with significantly less distortion (for balanced output), then you would be able to hear a difference (assuming you're aware of what distortion sounds like and under certain test conditions). Otherwise, all improvements are completely in your mind. Without a blind test, your results are invalid (essentially your mind playing tricks on your without any real measurable difference). I encourage you to read ASR to learn more about this topic. Take a look at "ifi Zen DAC and Headphone Amp Review" , as well as the "ifi Zen CAN Review (Headphone Amp)". The cable itself won't change anything about the sound. It's just a nicer material than your original cable. So purchasing more expensive balanced heaphones cables is never going to improve your sound, only the feel/material of the cable. If you have further questions, please ask.
