The speaker was up to date on firmware when I fired up the Tribit app. I'll do some comparison videos on Saturday. Any votes on what to put this up against first between JBL Boombox 3, Stormbox Blast, Soundcore Boom 2 Plus or WKing X20?

I'm liking mine already but i was hoping for more volume, I've dialed in the equalizer pretty good which helps with the sound but it needs a but more tweaking from a firmware update to really make it shine

Jay, have you heard about Tozo's new micro speaker, the PE1, which launches Nov.1? It's IpX8, has a 32hr. battery and a very clever caribiner. Hopefully it's great.

@@JaysStraightUpReviews Right. The PA1 is pretty impressive, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I never owned a micro speaker until buying the PA1, after your review of it. Now I find that I'm carrying it around with me all the time. It's taken over my Soundcore Boom 2's duties for watching KZbin videos and podcasts. That being said, I'm looking for a beer can size cylinder speaker. Any favorites for under $30?

I'm gonna wait a while until they release a new firmware update. I see a lot of comments about the muddiness. I should have known Tribit was kind of going downhill when I purchased the Stormbox Mini. I think they stopped producing good products up until the Flow idk. If they hired a new sound engineer post Flow, they should be fired.

Seems like firmware updates to fix or improve Bluetooth speakers is becoming the norm now days. The W-King X20, Soundcore Boom 2 Plus and Earfun UBoom X all had firmware updates shortly after release to fix or improve issues and performance.

It seems like with all that mid bass it will be a bit fatiguing to listen too. Definitely would have been better with smooth, low bass.

Does it sounds twice as loud as the old blast ? It has 180W(200w pluged in) vs 90W so should be way louder.

No old blast sounds louder and fuller this only has better bass but not better mids or highs , i have both and might return the blast 2 since the sound isnt much for its size

It sounds so awful. So muddy. Wow what a humongous downgrade over the first Blast in terms of clarity. Unsure if it's just on your video but this is ultra mediocre for what I expected. Hope JBL Boombox 4 keeps the quality, Tribit seems to have massively downgraded their speakers this generation. Money saved I guess.

@@JaysStraightUpReviews That's a bummer. Unsure how much firmware magic is possible to even potentially fix this disaster. It's just "Thump thump hurr durr my bass is big unga bunga". Either way in my book you should always test with the firmware it releases, not the one that's "promised maybe hopefully one day". Just like a video game. Not happy? Shouldn't have released it. I was shocked at the flack you got for the UBoom X. It's on the multi-million dollar company to be ready to release when actually releasing. They better be ready, they gave us the damn date. Nobody forced them to release with the broken firmware. It should NEVER be on the consumer to be "on the right firmware". Such a weird mentality in this community. Great video bro, appreciate the early access look. Disappointing performance from the speaker.

​@@SomeRandomCanuckI think quite a bit can be done via firmware update. The latest example being the Earfun UBoom X had some substantial issues and a firmware update cleaned up and addressed those issues.

​@@JaysStraightUpReviews tribits going downhill ever since the flow down to xsb2 having all the same tuning, no difference on all releases. They should fire their sound engeneer, all i hear from them are muddy bass crap
