Tribit Stormbox Blast vs Earfun UBoom X, a PROPER sound test 😎

I listened all this comparison with my eyes closed in order not to be biased knowing which speaker is playing. And every time when I liked more the overall sound and looked to see which one is playing it always was Uboom X. The Blast has kind of over saturated bass which resulted in sound muddiness. The Uboom has more balanced sound and was clearer in mids and highs without compromising in lower bass as well. The fact that you leveled the loudness of both speakers before the test shows that you know what you’re doing, so keep up with the good work. Binaural mic’s are also the best tool for these streamed audio comparisons. You got a new subscriber and I’ll look forward for your future videos.

I really appreciate your thoughts, I had exactly the same impression when I heard the UBoom X for the first time and was wondering about the bad outcome from the other KZbinrs. I also think the volume curve is perfect for indoor listening and if one wants it louder just turn it up more 😜 some speakers I have become hardly louder above half volume

After two days of owning the UBoom X, the bass is indeed heart thumping that you can feel. The app was easy and intuitive with all the presets that are fun to play with. My old ears prefer less bass and more treble which the custom eq handled effectively. It can only get better as it breaks in.

Even if the UBOOM X only performed as well or even slightly weaker than the Stormbox Blast, it would still be the better choice because it is more compact, lighter and cheaper, it can be charged with USB-C, it has a shoulder strap and, in my opinion, it is also more visually appealing. But judging by your sound comparison, it sounds even better than the Blast. It has a warmer, deeper bass, as well as more clarity and brilliance in the treble. Overall, it sounds powerful, open and crisp. I ordered 4 of them yesterday and can't wait to try them out for myself.

So far, you have the best demo comparisons. The Uboom X is the winner when volume matched. I ordered one of each so either one of them gets returned or end up with both.

Thanks 🙏, Let us know which you prefer and why? No idea how some can make demos with one speaker playing at a lower volume? The louder one will always be perceived as better sounding even though it may sound worse in reality. Exact volume matching is most important for a valid result.

Just need to know about battery life before buying Uboom X. Anyone can tell me? So far, sound quality much better than stormbox blast. Love that clarity and deeper bass. I got stormbox blast and Uboom L. If battery life is good, maybe will add Uboom X to my collection.

Battery life is excellent, will depend a lot on the volume. At maximum volume around 4-5 hours

From the video, the Stormbox Blast seems to be able to produce lower bass frequencies, but the UBoom X has a more coherent upper midrange/treble (maybe it doesn't have the noticeable 5kHz dip that the Stormbox Blast does). I'd go with the UBoom X, based on the video. Now, if only Earfun provided a nice neoprene wrap for it for outdoor use so the plastic doesn't get all scratched up... :-). Nice work, btw.

the Blast does only have a dip if you measure it from a fixed position, which you usually don't during listening. But bass is considerably deeper on the UBoom X.

Firmware version? Supposedly with the new 0.39 the outdoor presets and possible distortion above 80% have been fixed. Have you tried?

I have got both speakers. Unfortunately the Tribit is defective as the right passive radiator and the back make some noise during bass (vibration/rattling). A part from that (I will replace the Tribit with a new unit) they both sound very good. I think that mechanically speaking, the Uboom is better, more solid. The tribit is heavier and less sturdy. The UBOOM X however is very slow to charge compared to the Tribit while having also a much smaller battery.

After listening to this comparison and watching alan ross review along with oluvs comparison with a jbl party box vs one to two of the earfun i can definitely say it was worth buying and now that i got my hands on one im definitely ordering another. The quality and price point are unmatched. This thing cost less than a jbl charge 5 thats impressive and the tuning is very good not to suck up to the product but i genuinely feel like its good for what it is especially being that there are speakers that cost way more and barley have the sort of sound quality. I am looking foward to earfun coming out with the next biggest speaker in their line up. Maybe a three way speaker? That would be part of my speaker collection forsure. Im very pleased :)

I miss a test with good produced extreme metal. When the speaker stays clean, i am interested. A lot of good sounding speakers on the cheaper range become muddy on metal, even when they sound great on edm or funk/jazz etc.

That's the problem with some (unnamed) channels, that they don't even try (or only very poorly) to test the devices at the same volume. The latter is a particular disadvantage with Uboom X because of the more volume steps.

@DominikReviews you have some valid points but its better than nothing. I don't know anyone else who has compiled so many frequency response measurements of speakers to compare against each other. It works just to get an idea what kinda sound signature to expect. Since all their speakers are tested in the exact same way they can be compared to each other to get an idea what to expect. Maybe it's not perfect, but no one else is doing it.
