I recently bought the Dolphin SP-2100rbt and then learned about this Tribit. I bought the Tribit when it came back in stock and compared the 2 side by side and the Tribit blew the Dolphin away in every category. I was amazed as the Dolphin has 2, 10 inch wolfers!! Add that to the waterproof, portability and much longer battery life, it was a no brainer. The Dolphin is on its way back to where it came from...

If you apply the same EQ settings as Oluv did on his comparison video of the Blast against the PB100 it will sound way more hi-fi but without equalizing the sound the bass won't have a transient response it will sound a bit boomy which will muddle rest of the frequencies.

Thanks for the tip, but I like to set speakers up to my preference with EQ. Everybody hears things differently and there is no right or wrong for what each person enjoys.

Battery life is the deciding factor for me. I like the Partybox's sound and lights but real-life battery of around 4 hours doesn't cut it. Can't beat the Tribit's value.

The party Box is slightly louder especially when it's 60% and below. But the blast has a better overall sound in my opinion. It just sounds smoother and really more realistic. But I do agree with you Jay that they are fairly close as far as the way they sound and the volume. The blast does sound a little bit better though. But probably not quite as loud

I bought 2 Tribit Stormblast for $350 including tax which is much better than paying $320 for 1 JBL Party box in my opinion, Much better sound stage and EQ turning made the speakers even better.

Depends on what you need a speaker for. If you want one you can take to a friend's house to a house party with karaoke on the agenda, the Tribit is a no go. If you want a speaker to take to the beach, the Tribit is the better option. These speakers aren't really marketed in the same category. The Boombox or Xtreme JBL speakers are more the smaller, on the go style. The Encore is a party speaker, hence the name Partybox. 😉

Soundboks 3 is a good example. I think they rate it 40 hours, but even in their app it states 5 hours on 100% vol in the default sound mode and only 3 hours at max in bass EQ. 🤮

What was the firmware version on Tribit? Does the new 2.2 firmware reduces the bass quicker? I just got the speaker and updated to 2.2 immediatelly. Realized that the bass cuts off quite significantly when you pass around 80% volume.

I think part of that is what bass boost 2 does to the sound. It's more mid bass 🔊. That and JBL sound is more of the "v" shaped sound. I will probably do another video for these two speakers plugged in and the JBL in bass boost one mode, which is more low bass focused and my personal preference.

@@JaysStraightUpReviews I wouldn't agree, but it's the truth, the Tribit will compete with the more premium line from JBL A Hrman Kardon, while the Encore is a sound aimed at parties, hence the exaggerated sound in the bass and treble.In my opinion, in deeper sub-bass the JBL is louder, but is limited to that, and treble. Tribit has Sub, Bass, mid bass, mids, mid treble and treble, and super treble. In the last song you could see this, JBL had a more closed and concentrated sub in the middle, while Tribit had a linear transition between bass, which made the music fuller and with a greater dispersion.

@@jhonnh.7012 not sure if you know or not, but the Blast uses the JBL Boombox 2 drivers. Both of these speakers are good options with adjustable sound via their apps. To say the Encore is aimed at parties is very narrow minded. As for the sound dispersion, the Partybox speakers are very good at that and have excellent off-axis sound. The Encore has the tweeters angled slightly outward, which provides a nice off-axis sound. Hope this helps clear things up for you. 😉

Tribit's Twitters are made of Silk, which is why they have such perfect high notes. Again, Encore was made for parties, so the excess bass, hidden mids and spare treble, this is not definition, it has quality for its purpose. Tribit has separations between Sub, Bass, Low Mid, Mids, High Mids, Highs, and Bright Highs, all in the right proportion.There are some channels that tested the Tribit on a frequency response meter, and the linearity of the Tribit from 50 to 20 kHz is impressive. That's why Tribit stands out in any musical genre and delivers a cleaner, clearer and more specialized sound, close to the Studio's original music. Encore was made for parties, which is why Subgrave is absurd, but it is more closed and channeled, if you turn the box on its side it loses quality.
