Hey folks! In today’s video we’re back with more Gold Stake Balatro. Here, the start was a bit of a scramble to find decent Jokers, but the early strength of Checkered Deck was enough to keep the run going long enough to find a build. Enjoy the video!

@@animaebrains4259 somebody mentioned avenged sevenfold during music discussions which lead to roffle talking about how he doesn’t really enjoy the music of the band. which lead to people taking the joker further and further by insisting they were the best band of all time or that it was government mandated to listen to them. i found it funny for a while but it got stretched beyond the point of funny.

@@themememan2653 the hand he sent had six even steven triggers cause of seltzer (+24 mult) but a Q,J,10,9,8 straight flush would have had four even steven triggers + 100 chips from the devious joker + 15 chips from the runner which, even tough he would of sold them, would have at least let him pass the blind in one hand instead of two (his hand was 164x57= 9,348, a straight flush hand would have been 309x47= *14,523* )…. but at the end of the day it doesnt really matter that much haha

Its because of the orange stake: "Jokers may be perishable - disabled after 5 rounds"

On higher stakes, there are different effects that make the game harder. One is some jokers are temporary. You can tell buy the purple clock icon in the top left;

It would've been too broken. There is a reason why the only way of making negatives of your choice(ecto) is paired with a downside and has a soft limit of 3 uses in most runs.

It's the sticker. Whenever you beat a run (ante 8), the jokers you have at that point will be stickered. There's a sticker for every stake, and the highest stake beat with a joker will be the sticker it has.

Negative is a bad skip but the fun one, I like it when I’ve got gift card and/or swashbuckler for guaranteed value for it. Hard to turn down money for hands, Econ jokers, and interest as well as a whole shop for one negative +4 mult or 8-15 conditional mult.

A lot of the time we scale by playing blinds and viewing shops opting out of a shop and or your scaling for a negative that is more likely not to help you isn’t helpful. When I choose to do it, it’s to block boss blinds (sell a joker or hand is debuffed or one random joker is debuffed) or if I have another joker that will guarantee any jokers existence. Negative isn’t something you care about in the first few antis it is good once you have all slots filled problem is there is a lot of jokers that aren’t very useful past ante 3-4 best hope is it hits a Econ or times mult joker but unlikely.

Being honest Negative Skips for me are best for getting higher value jokers to sell due to the edition. But sometimes, just sometimes, they also come in clutch with a joker that saves your run in a kinda 'psyche' maneuver. Rare tho.
