omg! just stumbled upon this. what memories. Playing at Lamar's records on atlantic in north long beach on a saturday afternoon. James Harman band opening for george thorogood at the basketball gym at uc irvine. fats and ramos tore it up. george was almost a letdown. playing with the blasters at the coach house in capistrano. but probably one of my best memories was the night of the fats tribute at the palomino. jimmy woods and the immortals. top jimmy and the rhythm pigs. james harman. the blasters. and at midnight, joining the blasters, hank ballard and the midnighters. his parents were presented one of his guitars. what a special evening that was.

...... I saw the Hollywood Fats Trio open for Freddie King at the Backdoor in San Diego in the mid-1970s and he played a lot of acoustic blues on the dobro. It was great, but the dopey audience kept yelling Fred-DEE, Fred-DEE ! (I was embarrassed for my city) Later, I caught the James Harmon Band many times at the Belly Up Tavern. Thanks for the vid.

You must have been around in 1977-79 and seen Tall Cotton then at the Belly-Up Tavern (first electric band to play there) or at Jose Murphy's in Mission Beach?
