Tribute To Mark Forester

On September 29th, 2010, Senior Airman Mark Forester, beloved son, brother and friend was killed in Afghanistan while attempting to save a fallen comrade.
Mark was a member of the 21st Special Tactics Squadron, Pope AFB, NC.

My Dad and I met Airman Forester's unit, and have worked with them a couple of times. MSgt. "PN" spoke quite highly of him. Said he had an awesome sense of humor and was an upstanding Christian. Thank you for your service SrA Forester

I was stationed at SOTF-SE Ripley the day he and SF Sgt Harrison were brought in. 6th & 7th memorials we had in September 2010 alone. RIP American hero.

While watching this episode tonight I taken a back in the way mark wears the flag, using it to wrap himself when going into battle. It reminded me of the quote " if I face death carry me home on my shield" and this poem comes out my head, Flag in front, Flag behind, I am fighting a war, Committing no crime, Should I die In this war time Send me home, Flag In front, Flag Behind.
