Although I was born in the north east I became a Chelsea fan after we lost to Spurs in the 1967 F.A.Cup final. Saw the great man score 2 goals for the England U21 side against Scotland at the old Roker Park stadium before the match was abandoned in the second half due to fog. He scored his second with a close range header right in front of me, not 10 yards away. Family moved to London when i was 14, that’s when i started going to Stamford Bridge...and travelling the country to watch every game. Ossie had it all. R.I.P.

I'm 14 years old living in Hampstead in 1972 one day I decide to bunk off school, I take a walk on Hampstead Heath, thinking about girls and my team Chelsea, I get to Kenwood House and there sitting on the grass with his back to a tree is the king of Stamford Bridge, Peter Osgood he clocks my school uniform and says Bunking off, I say meekly still in shock yeah. What I later learnt was he was doing a photo shoot. I never told my mates at school the next day, as if they would have believed me I just wanted to keep the special moment to myself I still walk to Kenwood House, and I remember the tree, in 2017and I should have done it sooner, I carved Ossie was here March 1972.
