Yeah. Lemme tell you. There is nothing stopping you from being a pilot. It took me 20 years. But I got there. And u don't have to fly F18s off a deck to make a difference. One of the best best pilots I know sprays crops. And he keeps food on our table and earns more than and other pilot I know. Live your dreams. Make a start and don't quit

My father worked on the McDonnell Douglass A-12 Avenger ll program that derived the F412 from GE's F404. After the program was canceled, the research was directed toward an engine for the F/A 18E/F Super Hornet. I think it's pretty cool that my dad had an such an integral role in development of the F414 engine ! F18s are so badass!

My father was an electrical engineer who worked for McDonnell Douglass on the F-18. St. Peters, Missouri. I have some awesome pictures of the F-18 in production for marketing to congress(circa 1976 -1979). The aircraft is painted white with blue and gold stripes. A hornet with the words NAVY are on it(test flight pictures). I have pictures of the Harrier jump jet as well. The aircraft is painted white with red and blue stripes. The word Marines are on it(pictures are taken on an aircraft carrier.

Love this ❤, I used to work at a manufacturing company and my position was building engine parts for the F/18 Super Hornet, how I miss that job, I took great pride in that job and loved every minute of it. I gained a lot of trade skills with that job, five and half years to be exact.

I was working on the tarmac in Williamtown (NSW Australia) when the first RAAF Hornet arrived from the US in 1983/4. What an awesome weapon!!

Told My coach who is a 28 years Retired US Navy from Carrier Deck OPS and He Came Back the Next day and said it helped a Lot with his PTSD So thank you Very Much For Making This Vid he is also now freinds with my papa who is 8 years retired from the US Navy’s USS Nimitz (CVN-68) and a couple days ago they where talking about there memories with the crew😔🇺🇸🦅

I worked at General Electric and Lynn rector on a few different engines my favorite though was the F414 now in the super hornet After I originally lost the competition for the F35 On visits from navy pilots to our plant we know from their explanation that they would rather have 2 windows on a plane that just won for safety reason when you rob the ocean you have no other recourse with one engine you're out and you go down hail to that super hornet

I find myself at a crossroads. Launching and recovering of aircraft is always cool. However, modern airwing is some version of a super hornet and I find uninspiring. Man the days of two legacy hornet squadrons, two tomcat squadrons, intruder and prowler squadrons, Viking and of course Hawkeye. Balanced airwing. Each aircraft had its own hazards to watch out for. And to be frank, if you haven't had the experience of being up close and personal of a Tomcat, squatting on cat at full power.... man she was beautiful and menacing. I know there are many that are still in love with the F-14, but the F-18 is a much better plane for its role. The F-35 still has some bugs to work out like the degradation of its radar absorbing outer coat by ocean elements. The F-18 is still the most reliable and proven navy fighter.
