What you do is actually learn a method to find the cube root of any number. This trick is useless for anything real. Look above in the comments under the very first comment in this thread. I show a method if you are really interested.

Yes . definitely. In whole number part, split into groups of 3 numbers from right to left, whereas in decimal portion split left to right. Suppose if the given number is 45.78, you must take the number as 45.780 . Then consider this number as 45780. Now try to find the cube root of 45780. 45780 = 64000 - 18220 = 40^3 - 18220 45780^(1/3) = 40 - 18220/3*40*40 = 40 - 6073/1600 = 40 - (3 + 1273/1600) = 37 - 0.8 approximately = 36.2 now 45.780^(1/3) = 3.62 as against to 3.58

Simply learn to evolve the cube root of any number! This trick will not help in any way. This trick can only find the cube root of 100 of the first million numbers. And, plus the fact that you would need to KNOW that the number was a perfect cube. As such, the trick is useless in real maths
