This movie is brilliantly written. When you watch it for the second time you'll notice all the hints and foreshadowing they give about stuff that will happen in the movie later on. Love hiw everything ties together. The beginning of the movie ties with the end in a full circle. If you look closely, in the beginning you can see the zombie kids from the bus across the street walking while the chick is taking the decorations down.

The razor blade candy was taken from the principal's candy bowl - AKA the pumpkin boy "Sam" KNEW he was retrieving a weapon he was going to use later. Another display of his supernatural power.

The pumpkin kid his name is Sam he's not even a kid. His name is Sam short for Samhain as in the Festival of Samhain. Wich became All Hallows Eve then it became known as Halloween. So Sam is literally the embodiment of all the rules and traditions of Halloween. He is the spirit of Halloween itself he is also the enforcer of the rules and traditions of Halloween. So Sam just takes the form of a kid as far as his actual size. So you break the rules and traditions he is obligated and forced to punish you. The old man Mr.Kreeg stole Candy instead of passing it out. The one blew out the jack-o'-lantern before midnight. They broke the rules and traditions so they became targets for Sam. In a deleted scene Sam even threw eggs at the kid knocking over jack-o'-lanterns. The kid that you seen the principal kill. On his front porch with the candy so you break rules and traditions. Regardless of your age an Who You Are Sam delivers some form of punishment. Sam is also at all the key events because it's his party basically Halloween or whatever you want to call it. It's his entire party so he goes to different parties. Side note the kid that looks into a dressing room. Is the kid that plays Sam throughout the movie. So the writer and director added that part just for him. So you could see his face in the movie because other than that. He is in the Sam costume other than in the fight and stunt scenes. The idea for Sams face is literally as the writer and director put it. If you take a fetus skull and combined it with a pumpkin. These are so interviewen it's not funny like at the very start of the movie. If you watch behind the kid in the white mask. You can see the zombie kids from the bus from the second-story. Leaving the old man's house or Mr. Kreegs from the 4th story. Sam got the candy bar with the razor blade in it from the principal in the first story. That he used on Mr. Kreeg in the 4th story the guy in the hot dog costume in the Second Story. Is one of the victims in the 3rd story the principal from the first story pretended. To be a vampire in the 3rd story to continue to kill people. Until he met his end in that story that was also done on purpose. The idea behind that was to show a monster some one that enjoys killing people. You think that's the worst monster out there but he gets killed by a real monster that's worse than him. Then the old man or Mr.Kreeg is the bus driver from the second-story. Who then gets killed by the zombie kids from the 2nd story. So this movie is literally about everything that makes up Halloween. All its wonder an Beauty as well as all the Darkness that comes with it. This movie is literally about Halloween itself Halloween is the star of the movie. Not just a backgrounds for a season everything in this movie literally revolves around Halloween. It's rules and traditions and mythology and lore.

@@SomethingCinema to be honest I only caught on to the candy bar thing , the principal pretending to be the vampire to continue killing people as well as the old man being by busdriver. I learned the rest of it after getting the Shout factories collector's edition of this movie. Then watching it with the audio commentary on whare the writer and director pointed everything out. Also Warner Brothers never released this movie in movie theaters. They played around with the idea but never did it was only shown a few times at some horror Festivals. Then it sat on the shelf for a few years then Warner Brothers did a straight-to-dvd release only. For some unknown reason maybe to miny movies whore coming out like saw and stuff like that who knows. The werewolf transformation scene that might need some explanation. He wanted something new and completely different other then Transformations you seen in other werewolf movies. Then he went to a lesser-used transformation in some stories and Legends. The werewolves would not grow fur out of their skin they would remove the human skin to reveal the werewolf underneath it. Like the human skin was clothing covering it up so they went. Lets have them dance and remove the skin like it was clothing. That goes back to Legends of like skinwalkers an Goosebumps books like the Werewolf of Fever Swamp or something. Sam first appeared in a animated short story called Trick ' R Treat : Seasons Greeting. It's on KZbin if you want to see it the writer and director of the movie. Made it as a project for his film class. If you watch it the blood in it is actually his real blood. He ended up cutting himself on the film slide as he made it. So instead of drawing blood he just used a few drops of his own since he was already bleeding.

This is one of those movies that gets better over time. I didn't know what to make of it the first time I saw it, then on multiple re-watches, realize how meticulous, clever, and seamless the storytelling is. It's now my favorite Halloween movie.

This is another episode of a Kill Count I watched, and now I'm watching it here. The "vampire" wasn't a real vampire. The werewolf girl took his fangs out before they did the ritual. I think, it was just his costume. Each girl had to have a date for the ritual. If you notice in the movie. The dates are a big baby, some camera guys, etc.
