After watching half an hour of his vids i learned more about real kicking and stance than in decades of Taekwondo, Hapkido or Modern Arnis before.

I'm a big fan of Paul. Great to see a pro clearing up the confusion about there being one set way to kick. I like throwing the kick to hack upwards too because it causes more pain (like Paul says) ... but so often I see technique snobs saying we shouldn't throw these kind of kicks because they aren't the typical Thai "round" motion. Thanks!

I think half the internet loves Paul ha ha. He has a great way of putting things across in his own unique style. All the best Muay Thai fighters I meet all agree on the topic that there is not just one way to kick. I am glad you found this useful and enjoyed it!!

I like the various angles you can cut in with those kicks. I practice a different martial art but I love the approach of muay thai fighters have in terms of kicking and definitely going to train and add this into my arsenal.

Hi mate, I just want to add to where you were saying about your feet getting caught flat on the landing after the lead round kick. In general, if you kick hard your lead foot will land where it lands, you can train to land your lead leg, slightly to the left or slightly to the right, regardless of your lead leg landing, that point where you land, you can pivot from there with your back leg. If people come straight at you after the kick, you can pivot on the landing and attack them from the side. It's not natural at first, but if you drill it it can be useful to change the angle. You and Master Sken are my favourite tricksters for muay thai, more so than Saenchai. Respect brother.

A kick with the front LEG is what he means I think, so using your forward leg. Usually the left leg, and for southpaw stance the right leg. Not neccessarily a front kick, a front kick is a straight type of kick. What's shown in the video is called a round/roundhouse kick, or angle kick in Muay thai maybe.

Most peoples left (or weaker leg) can often take them a long time to feel as good as the other. Part of the issue is that your strong leg is not standing still. It is getting better at the same time as your left but because it was already ahead, the weaker one always feels like the poor cousin. Even if it has improved dramatically from when you first started. It is just perspective sometimes!! Keep training hard!!
