Craig Jones is a genious. Sweet butterfly guard technique with multiple options.

Great Technique! There are some guys that insist on starting on their knees, and this looks like a great way to address those guys as well 😎

That is one serious entry. Craig is very creative in his entries.

I'd advise everyone to watch Aaron Milams Tornado Sweep Tutorial, it's basically a much more efficient version of this, also ending in the saddle/honey-hole position or multiple sweep option. It negates their ability to sprawl on you, since you cut them over their hip instead of using your other leg as a pendulum (à la Cyborgs Sweep). Not to take anything away from Craig of course, he's a genius :)

Can you guys do an interview with Nicholas Meregali?

Great suggestion. I think Nick would be down since he already has a podcast and it would be a good collaboration for him. Plus he has a lot of great input 👍

This move is similar to ehat Garry Tonon used in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/bX2reJeVlrefbK8 Craig's entry from butterfly guard looks like a great variation/alternative. Some details from this videos are new though👍👊
@TakedownBreakdown5 жыл бұрын
Also I am referring to the second entry in the video, but it fails for Garry Tonon. He ends up in the inside sankaku anyway though

This tech is great but if they sprawl it becomes a real pain in the ass
@TakedownBreakdown5 жыл бұрын
Yup. The guy might end up squishing you, weight on your head with your legs all jacked up lol not a happy place to be. I guess you gotta really sell that first sweep and be fast. Idk
He literally shows you how to stop that in this video, lol.

There is a simple way to escape that technique…… as soon he shifts his hips out just go deep 1/2 guard right away
@CameronLienhart5 жыл бұрын
I do like it. But it seems like your butterfly hook leg is vulnerable to a single leg. Wrestlers be all over it
@groundfighter23755 жыл бұрын
Cameron Lienhart you can do victor roll then
@michaelcorcoran39425 жыл бұрын
I thought the same...but then you remember its Craig Jones and he is better than us, and would also see this.
@ratmoko15 жыл бұрын
@@michaelcorcoran3942 Craig is also very good at that hip toss from the overhook and whizzer when his opponent stands for a single which probably helps.
@selfcritical5 жыл бұрын
The technique this is based on is done while your opponent is attacking single so.....basically doesn't matter. If they attack it they open the space under their hips, you do the viktor roll
@Vorador475 жыл бұрын
@@groundfighter2375 yeah, that's basically what it anyway, a victory roll from butterfly guard.
