I am so grateful for this channel! I have been a collector for almost 20 years now but have barely ever played the game. Watching your very informational and instructive content is informing me on the best way to play the game. For that I can not thank you enough, keep up the good work!

Best thing i ever did as a collector was get j to playing retro format. Now I also collect the nice cards for display but collect old battered cards to play with!

Oh hey, a version of that Kingdra deck is the last deck I used during my childhood competitive Pokemon days. I actually still have it sleeved up at my parent's house. Really cool to see it in action again. I might have to go get it and bring to league one of these days.

If there is an old format deck that I always enjoy, it’s the boy Kingdra!! That all Japanese copy was flames! 😍😍
@alexedes9216 жыл бұрын
Rocket on was a lot of fun. Have you considered Lt. Surge's Electabuzz? It was fun but not overly competitive.
@TrickyGym6 жыл бұрын
is that thing viable at all!??!! i love that card!
@alexedes9216 жыл бұрын
I thought it was back in the day lol. If you hit head's on discharge mid game after a charge or couple of energy attachments. 60-90 damage from a basic pokemon back then was kinda epic. I'd double gust after I got loaded up to hurt whatever my opponents trying to do. It worked back then but a bunch of kids having fun wasn't very competitive.

Love the old school deck battles, ever thought about doing old school theme deck battles? Idk if there are any old theme decks that would produce a fun match or not.

What do you think a WotC only format would look like? What bans/restrictions would have to exist?

it was a monster in the format too. Jason Klaczynski piloted it to the finals of a super trainer showdown I remember. but it was weak to an even greater deck - Feraligatr...

Here’s a thought.... I’m like a year and half new to the game, I know you sell some of the older decks in the Etsy store but perhaps you can sell it as a battle deck package with setup, instruction and rules for that format as well kinda how Pokémon co. does... I’m personally reluctant to buy a deck because I wouldn’t know how to play it and I don’t know anyone that does

Good strategy with the Magby there. I used to use Goop Gas Attack whilst sticking with using Cleffa and a Focus Band. I much preferred the old decks. the damage and HP creep has been too insane and dumb with the new cards (not to mention how trashy they all look, design-wise). The new decks over-complicated the game. Once you got passed Aquapolis, Skyridge and Exhibition, it was all a rapid decline from there.

Is there a website that explains all the formats from the past. I have looked online and haven’t found anything myself. If anyone knows about one let me know. I would greatly appreciate it.

Malicious Mewtwo look up Jason Klaczynski wordpress. He covers all formats, in detail, up to 2007 and is constantly updating it for future formats.

Do u have to flip a coin to hit the benched.cleffa if you target them? If arcanine or typhlosion is active?
@TrickyGym6 жыл бұрын
Nope!! You can snipe the cleffa without flipping. Kingdras snipe just requires a flip

@TrickyGym2 жыл бұрын
When facing a baby Pokémon you have to flip
@MannySimoneCards2 жыл бұрын
@@TrickyGym ohhhh shoot! So even if you're not trying to damage it, you still gotta flip. That makes sense. Thanks so much

If people had actually played pre-Neo Pokemon, then they would not call the baby rule "the worst mechnaic in the game" but would praise it to no end.
