I had the EC 257 for almost three years now and I have to say it holds tuning and better tone than anything I’ve ever played. Perfect for B and B flat standard. It helped me get into extended range guitars and overall it’s helped me significantly in becoming a better player. Now six string guitars feel so small and limiting to me haha!

Those LTD tuners are honestly better than the Grovers I have on my Les Paul Studio, and the switch is as smooth as butter on mine

They will do the trick but everyone’s tastes are different as some prefer active over passive and vise versa. In all honesty you have a solid, solid guitar that is worth putting extra money into changing pickups if you chose to do so - Kevin
