Is it normal to have mild tricuspid regurgitation?

Thank you so much. God bless 😊❤️

They don't do anything if it is mild, just monitor it. I do have mild, hope they stay that way.

If the condition is mild, it is typically monitored closely without immediate intervention, hoping it remains stable. ❤️

What happens if you have the valve repaired or replaced? Does everything go back to normal and you can expect a normal life expectancy or is your life expectancy still greatly reduced?
@MedicalCentricАй бұрын
@Zorta58nb If a heart valve is successfully repaired or replaced, many patients can expect significant improvement in their quality of life, and in some cases, a near-normal life expectancy. However, long-term outcomes depend on factors like overall health, the type of valve problem, and how early the intervention occurred. While some risks may remain, regular follow-up care and lifestyle changes can help maintain heart health and reduce complications, leading to a better outlook. Always consult your doctor for personalized advice based on your condition.

Last year I had an echocardiogram and they noticed my tricuspid valve has moderate regurgitation. My doctors aren't even monitoring it and don't care. My jugular vein now bulges a bit while I'm laying down. Guess im screwed then, especially since the doctors aren't showing any interest.

@Zorta58nb I’m sorry to hear you’re feeling this way. Moderate tricuspid valve regurgitation can sometimes be managed without immediate intervention, but if you're noticing new symptoms like a bulging jugular vein, it could indicate increased pressure in your heart or blood vessels. It’s important to push for further evaluation, as your symptoms may require closer monitoring or additional tests. Seeking a second opinion from a cardiologist might give you more clarity and peace of mind. Don’t hesitate to advocate for your health!

@@MedicalCentric Thank you. I saw GP today and explained my situation and he spoke with another GP and reckoned that I have nothing to worry about. I even presented the new symptom of bulging neck vein while laying down on top of the other symptoms I've had for a long time. I feel like they are brushing me off. I will now be saving for a cardiac MRI to see what's happening. Thanks for replying. I was just wondering though if you know if heart valve surgery/replacement can extend life by many years or if even that doesn't help much. I would be super grateful for a reply. Thank you

My 12 yr. Old son just got diagnosed. He had fainting spells
@MedicalCentricАй бұрын
@bekindandyouwillgofar8717 I'm sorry to hear about your son’s diagnosis, especially with fainting spells involved. Fainting in children can be due to various causes, such as dehydration, low blood pressure, or even heart or neurological issues. It’s important to work closely with his healthcare team to understand the underlying cause and manage his condition effectively. Stay strong and support him through this challenging time.

With moderate tricuspid the doctor doesn't look for the causes even with higly fatiguee..?!!The Lupus can cause heavy ,weak legs and general fatigue?I have this stmptom with moderate tricuspid,the problem the cardiologist didn't llok for the cause!!And I heard Lupus causes macrocytosis..?Which I have!
@MedicalCentric2 ай бұрын
@popitoto It’s important that your cardiologist looks deeper into the causes, especially since you’re experiencing significant fatigue and leg weakness. Lupus can indeed cause systemic symptoms like fatigue, muscle weakness, and can sometimes lead to macrocytosis due to its impact on blood cells. Given the overlap in symptoms, it might be helpful to discuss these concerns with both your cardiologist and a rheumatologist to ensure a comprehensive approach.

I've heard ineffective carditis is less serious than infective carditis : )
@rg97497 ай бұрын
It should have read infective endocarditis, ie inflammation of the inside of the heart secondary to infected blood.

One night I was in A fib and had to go to the ER and the ER doctor asked me Scotty you haven't been here in a while remind us again what your cardiac history is again. I said "tricuspid valve atresia with single ventricle". The ER doctor said "what the hell is tricuspid valve atresia and how are you alive with only one ventricle"? My response was"you are a doctor and you don't know this shit"? ER doctor said I'm an ER doctor not a pediatric cardiologist.
