I found out recently that I have severe tricuspid regurgitation. I've had resistant high blood pressure for a long time, but it's controlled now. Otherwise, I'm fit and healthy at 76 without any symptoms. My cardiologist has been treating me with medication. I have an appointment with a heart surgeon in a couple of weeks. I'm apprehensive because I don't know what kind of surgery or treatment he will recommend. I appreciate the KZbin videos that you have provided. Thank you!

they repair valves now by using catheters and going thru a small cut in you groin. It's just an overnite stay.

Thanks for the kind words about the videos in this channel. Here's one about the tricuspid valve that you may want to watch with Dr. Ailawadi - kzbin.info/www/bejne/hpWkd3WPptufjtk.

I have a leaking tri cuspid valve and a leaky mitral valve that causes me to have edema and out of breath issues. But since the leaks are considered mild, the doctors won't fix them. I don't know how to force them.

Hi Dennis, So sorry to hear about the symptoms you are experiencing from tricuspid and mitral regurgitation. That is not fun. Curious... Have you thought about getting a second opinion?

@@piroskamerk106 if you have severe regurgitation they should treat it. for afib they cut your heart so the afib doesn't affect the whole heart. I have a cardiac resynchronization device (like a pacemaker) that keeps my heart from beating over 120. My valves used to be mild to moderate. But they heal some over time if you exercise and keep your weight down. My valves are now 'trace' regurgitation, my fitness is better, and the regurgitation settles in my lungs and I cough it up and spit it out. It's ok to be scared but it won't help. I was scared but as it became less severe I am better. You can get a watchman implanted too that will keep you from having a stroke. I'm taking just spironolactone 400 mg a day, it's a diuretic and a heart pill. You don't have to take potassium with it. I read valves don't heal on their own. But as the walls of the heart heal the valves work better. anything else let me know.

@@dennislurvey3235 Yes you right to day I visiting my GP will ask why they don’t don’t do about my severe regulation. I just checked my heart with Kardia my heart rate was 115 and AFIB as well I read severe tricuspid regulation can cause AFIB and chest pain ! I have all of this. Thank you for answering! ❤️From Australia 🇦🇺

@@dennislurvey3235 What are you saying, that your valve problems have regressed from mild and moderate to almost nothing as a result of exercise and maintaining a healthy weight? But that's extraordinary! How long did this regression take place?
