That thing looks pretty cool. Gosh, i wish I was a tech type. Would be awesome to have something like that until I have to call someone in to repair it.

Great to see these consoles are still being used. I worked for Trident back in the early 90s and tested many Vector channel strips. I worked for Malcolm Toft later when he started MTA. Fun times!

When Malcolm Toft left Trident, I felt that their consoles were never as good as they had been. While Trident had their own fan/customer base, it was never as big as it was during the Toft years... the 80, 80B, and 80C were some of their best consoles ever... many of which are still in service and many of those are in basement studios in Nashville. Audient is a GREAT console and Dave Dearden is an EXCELLENT designer/manufacturer!

There were some clunkers in the DDA line of consoles ;-) Trident seem to lost its way...

Great video and story of the history of the consoles. I deal with College’s too, and all of um are hard to get there mind straight on musical things. Like turning multiple pianos for years and then never getting a phone call back except for emergency. Oh well.

And never having a problem calling if they are in big trouble...

One of the reasons the console wasn’t working was because some students had sex on it. I was told that by a faculty member.

I don't think so. There are plenty of consoles that people have sex on and they are working fine ;-)

One day, I’ll hopefully get a big console. I have my soldering station ready 😅
