This is the Eucharistic liturgy of the Roman Rite of the Catholic Church celebrated according to the 1962 Roman Missal (Missale Romanum), also commonly referred to as the Tridentine Rite, or Tridentine Mass, or Tridentine Latin Mass, or Old Latin Mass, or classical Latin Mass, or Traditional Latin Mass (TLM).

A "missa cantata" is an approved form of celebration of the Traditional Roman Rite of Mass which serves as a compromise between a Low Mass (which involves no music or incense, by definition) and a Solemn High Mass (which has strict instructions and requirements for celebration that cannot be met in many parishes). Glorious! With the Motu Proprio we must pray for the reconciliation of SSPX even more. I am privileged my church in London will use the extraordinary rite as normative and that I can visit St Nicolas du Chardonnet when in Paris. Protradition, thank you for this Mass. Please pray for the Conversion of England and its Reconciliation with the Holy See. Holy Trinity, mercy. Our Lady, pray. St Philip Niri, Pray. St Nicolas du Chardonnet, pray. Indeed, I assisted a NO mass a few weeks ago, with a high quality chorus, and the chants of the ordinary in latin. I weish all the NO were like this!

What happened to the Divine Liturgy of the Byzantine Rite? Any form of liturgy regardless of rites, conducted and participated with reverence, in true faith is the best liturgy in the world. In case you didn't know, liturgies in Greek and Arabic do give you the same feeling as it is in a Tridentine mass.

My theory is that too many men were admitted to the priesthood without proper examination The interesting thing it is an Anglo-Saxon problem (ie where the Catholic Church was excluded from mainstream society until recently). In the Uk the whole of society is in a forment thanks to our press and (bloody socialist) government. This impinges on the Church and spoils our Sunday Reading - who else remembers ' Vicar and Choir boy ' headlines in the News of the world as normal light reading?

13mns, Yes, I can imagine a Latin mass better on the space station or the moon than I can a vernacular. Consider: what native language have space stations or the moon? What language would you have us use on different worlds, other than a common tongue. But of course, we were created upon this Earth, and of course our worship is suited to it! Your situations are artificial, so must your worship be, as well. As for the last, I am one of the opinion that modern times suck, to be frank.

Tridentine Latin Mass Igreja Saint Nicolas de aris: Esta é a verdadeira Santa Missa de sempre e nada tem haver com a missa luterana. O Rito de São Pio V É antídoto eficaz contra toda heresia protestante. O Canon é antiqüissimo e data de São Gregorio. A Missa que assistimos é autenticamente gregoriana. O intróito que o coro cantou: "Meus pensamentos são de Paz não de aflição Diz o Senhor" é de uma beleza sem par tanto no que toca ao texto e a notação do Liber Usualis.
