There is no standard recipe for Currywurst, everyone makes it according to their own taste or how they think it will be best received by customers. The special thing in Berlin is that they also have a currywurst without casing. When you order, you are asked whether you want the sausage with or without casing. The taste of the sausage can vary depending on the manufacturer, the sauce is usually homemade. Everyone has different ideas about how sweet the sauce should be. I prefer the sauce to be less sweet. If you want more curry, you order the currywurst with extra curry, which is usually free.

The most famous currywurst stand is Konnopke's Imbiss, Schönhauser Allee 42, Berlin. Presidents have queued there. It's not just the sausage that's great, but especially the unique sauce. Since 1962.

On the menu it list Berliner currywurst, second item is Berliner currywurst mit (with) Pommes (French fries). In small print there was an English translation. So one is with, and one is without fries. The style of sausage is (or at least was when I lived in Berlin) what a Berlin currywurst looks like. Other parts of Germany will use a different sausage. I surely would have loved to eat it. Looked very good to me.

Oh, I remember, now I really would like to have 1 of this "Currywursts" again. (Was living In Berlin a few years in my younger life). This kind of currywurst , I think, you get only there. The best !!! Take care, stay health :-)

Ask around were you get the best currywurst. Skin should be hard and curry bit hot. If you find the right place to eat a good 1 you will understand 🙂

That would be me essentially 😅❤ Just go to the square in front of the train station "Zoologischer Garten" & try "Curry 36" 😎 If there will be any understandable complaints left, then chances are, this dish is not ment for you 😅❤.
