Just a tip. I strive for a gelatinous bone broth so I use the instant pot on high pressure for 10 minutes. Then switch to slow cook for 10-12 hours. The slow cook function is perfect because too high of a temp will break the gelatin. You want to maintain a temp of 180° so the slow cook function is perfect! Thanks for the video!

I do a 2hr IP cook for our bone broth and when it cools it is always like jello. So...

That’s exactly what I do, the slow cook isn’t that great on the instant pot, i found out by chance that if you do high pressure for a short while before the slow cook it’s great.

I made chicken soup with instant pot bone broth just this week! It gelled up so solidly in the fridge with perfectly suspended chicken and vegetables, I told my husband we were having a 70s savory jello salad 😂

In Guangxi, my wife cooks 2-4 meats for our dinner meals. When she cooks some bones into soup we enjoy it with our meals. Others are saved for the next batch, yummy. Seldom does anyone get sick during wintertime. Great levels of taste. Between her and our son, a chef at his restaurant we eat healthy. Yes we use 2 instant pots cooking types for the task. This is a useful video!

Been doing just this for 2 years and the IP makes the best collage rich bone broth. We then package into quart mason jars cap them and into the fridge just like you do. Costco rotisserie chicken is the best.

Thank you for this... I really appreciate you taking the time to teach this stuff... Im an old single guy with a tiny kitchen, reluctant to start messing around with my new instapot, but you make it look like something I could eventually enjoy,

I save my scraps from any meat I'm cooking, slow cook for about 12+ hours, and can in pint or quart jars. Just can't beat a good bone broth during cold season. Love your videos Lisa, Blessings always, g.

I bought a chamber vacuum sealer from Avid. I think that’s the name of the company anyway it actually vacuum seals liquid, which is a huge game changer for my freezer space I absolutely love that thing. It was worth every penny and the bags are a fraction of the price because they don’t have to be ridged. Thank you for your videos. Somebody told me if you use your Insta pot on low pressure you’ll actually get gelatin.

OMG. Now I dont feel so all alone (and stupid) first time I made broth I also poured the liquid thru the strainer to save the solid bits. soon as the last of the liquid gurgled down the drain I realized I had to say goodbye to my hard earned broth. Never again. any time I have a strainer at the sink I think twice about what is to save and what to discard. amen.

Why do I need to pressure cook for the same time I would cook on the stove top? I would think pressure cooking would only take 30 minutes or so

When it comes to meat and meat products, I typically go no more than 3 or 4 days in the refrigerator. I prefer to either pressure can into jars or freeze my homemade broth into containers.

My MIL just said that too! Her chicken bone broth is thick, flavorful (she first roasts the bones under the broiler for a bit) and very gelatinous. For beef, she uses oxtails. Very yummy and rich! 👍

I've heard that you should only use organic, free-range chickens to avoid heavy metals leeching from the bones. So far, I've found mixed opinions about this online, and I'd like to know if there are any science based sources that can confirm or deny this? Just thought I'd put the question out there in case anyone knows of any.

You were my first teacher for Instant Pot 101 😃- but isn’t 2 hours displayed as 2:00 not 1:20 (that’s 80 minutes)?

I enjoy watching you do the Instant Pot things so don’t worry, I’m not being mean or planning to leave the channel - the 1:20 you had on your IP was not 120 minutes, it was one hour and twenty minutes.

It's $7.99 at the store where I live. But I prefer buying chicken breasts on the bones. I prefer the white meat only so it's really a waste of money for me to buy the whole bird. But nothing tastes better than home made broth. Nothing❗❗❗

The Costco chickens are plumed by a lot of salt...super salted chicken. that's why they are so large. If you are watching your sodium I don't recommend those chickens.

Costco made chicken are low quality which makes your bone broth a waste of time. Get better real pasture raised chicken.
