I think it's the opposite of what Sips said. Rather than it being a chain of people being anal, it's a chain of people like Sips not wanting to rock the boat leading up to Sips sitting in the wrong seat and being told off for it. He is right though that it causes the entire movie theater to shuffle around as you find out everyone is sat in the wrong seat because some numpty at the beginning of the chain decided to disregard the assigned seating.

Girl dinner is about how when you don't have the task of cooking for other people (significant other, spouse, kids, etc) many women won't go out of their way to cook a full on meal. Instead many of us like to graze through our pantries and have a variety of textures and flavors as a "meal." A spoonful of sweet and creamy peanut butter, a crisp slice of apple, some salty crackers, a sour pickle or some olives, a small scoop of leftover chicken salad, some salsa and tortilla chips. A little of this and a little of that can give you all the major good groups while simultaneously providing a varied flavor and sensory experience. That's "girl dinner."

@@cnut7383 Depression food is food you eat because you CAN'T (can't muster energy to cook, can't leave the house for ingredients, can't mentally take having to think about what to eat, can't stand anything but safe foods), girl dinner is food you eat because you CAN (because you are free from the responsibilities of having to feed others and take into consideration their personal preferences, dietary restrictions, etc). One woman's girl dinner might be a weird charcuterie board of random bites while another woman might make grilled cheese and tomato soup or a complex ratatouille. For a while my girl dinner was a grilled spam and pineapple sandwich on toasted bread with siracha and a side of a big bunch of grapes. I'd never ever make that for dinner if my family was home, but on the random evening I found I had all yo myself it's what *I* specifically wanted to eat. There's a deeper conversation about expectations for women to put nurturing others above their own needs, but at it's simplest it's about the freedom you have to make and eat whatever you want because no one is watching or judging or expecting anything of you. Girl dinner is freeing and joyous, opposite of depression food.

I find that its the format that makes it different, short form meme culture where you get a new image every 5 seconds... now we got generations practically "OD"ing on dopamine. Games tend to have slow parts that keeps you grounded, and TV... you spend 10 minutes hoping something is on just to end up where you started and settle for the best of the worst. Like all my mates are meme junkies and its all they do, every chatroom, every game lobby, meme after meme. Its a bit off-putting and lowkey insane imo. And I think we should curb our enthusiasm for it.

In the UK, I've only ever had assigned seating for expected sellout showings on peak release weekends at peak times. 99% of times I've gone, it's been a free-for-all, never been a problem, it's always far from full. I would wager though there's quite a difference between rural lincolnshire, etc. vs London and other cities.

Not that it matters, but "girl dinner" is literally because every girl (mostly) has their one "dinners too much right now" meal. Mine is some protein, whatever cheese is in the fridge, and fruit. I planned a girl dinner that was just a big bowl of precut watermelon, on sale mozzarella, and balsamic glaze. For a couple months, of my own volition, I ate Costco brie and cranberry celebration. It wasnt the only thing i ate, but it was for almost every dinner. I liked it and couldnt be bothered with anything more involved. There was something going around the internet that guys comfort meals are nice home cooked meals and ladies comfort meals are quick and easy microwave meals. Maybe a hint of sexism, but its always hit the mark for me

pre-pandemic assigned seating was a rarity but certain chains definitely had it. once the pandemic hit it became the norm. also massively cutting down on staffing and making everyone fill their own drinks and popcorn with those stupid popcorn dispensers that just give you the old garbage scraps that filter to the bottom instead of the fresh stuff on top

Allot more was said at that hearing. To boil it down to what Pflax said is unjust; the man mentioned was in fact tasked by the government to investigate the government. He was given the highest security clearances possible to investigate Special access programs. And during his investigations he felt threatened enough to make an official whistleblower’s complaint and it was seen to be credible and urgent by the attorney general. And he is currently being represented by an ex attorney general who quit their job to represent him. You can ignore everything he said he was told. But that in itself is enough be compelling. The other two witnesses were first hand witnesses who recorded their viewing on multiple systems, radar, flir, and are high ranking pilots, Lieutenant and commander. Pair that with the UAP disclosure act that’s trying to be passed at the moment and I don’t think you can just palm it off so quickly. I don’t think the likes of Rep Tim Burchett and AOC have agreed on anything in a long time. But they’re working together on this.

There is an objective difference between someone thinking something and someone writing it down. Thinking something can be involuntary, but writing it down becomes a voluntary act for which there must be a motivation. What is the motivation? Do they think this idea is important enough that it merits recording? Do they think other people want or need to engage with this thought? Is their mind so utterly engulfed by this idea that they needed to get it out before they could move on? And to go beyond Pyrions question i have to highlight the paradox of what he asked, because you cannot know someone was thinking something like this until they have communicated the thought is some way, so in order to compare your feelings about someone having a thought before and after they have communicated it, it would require us to assume to know the thoughts of others, which would require this assumed thought to be constructed by our own mind. So to ask this question of lewis and expecting the fan fiction not to have any effect on him is to suggest that he would assume there is someone out there thinking about him visiting an alien brothel, if that was indeed his assumption then its probably more important that he work out why he would ever think that, rather than considering his own reaction to someone communicating it to him.
