as a wheelchair user my CCW is in an off-body chest bag, not a mil-spec chest rig and I use a trigger guard hostler as an extra layer of safety, in a bag with a clip or anchor point Meant for trigger holsters.

I like everything you mentioned. I use mine in a nightstand drawer. It’s nice to know that from a dead sleep I’m not touching the trigger from a draw grab.

Hello, I also like the idea of knowing that if I wake up from a dead sleep, and need my firearm, I won’t accidentally pull the trigger. When I’m down at the barn working on my cars or tractors, I don’t like carrying my firearm on my belt. Im very comfortable setting it in my toolbox or on the bench. Cook holsters made mine and fits perfectly. I can’t see me using a trigger guard as a concealed carry. That would make me nervous. just my opinion for what it’s worth.

For a revolver, it’s optional. For a semi auto, it’s a must.

Agreed, though sometimes a Glock factory mini strap is good, with the belt loop wings cut off or trimmed down.

Why isn’t anyone mentioning the biggest reason for buying a trigger guard and that’s in the pants pocket, I haven’t seen any thoughts about concealing a gun in the pants pocket?!!! This is the only reason I’d buy one but there’s no reviews about carrying it in the pants pockets

A trigger guard protector is NOT a holster but is essential for single action striker fired autos, like the Glock, with no other safeties than the integral trigger lever. That type of pistol should not be kept loaded with a round in the chamber and carried loose in a pocket or purse w/o trigger protection. I can’t believe this doesn’t get talked about..

Where can I purchase that trigger guard?
@williammoore7482 Жыл бұрын
Hello, Cook holsters made mine. They make them to order and the wait time is around eight weeks. I purchased mine during Covid, and they had employee and production issues, that may have changed. I would imagine Amazon would have a selection of trigger guards.
@jayn83923 ай бұрын
Always thought this was stupid, but now looking into one because I have a vest with a “ccw pocket” where all it really is a couple of stretchy loops to hold a gun in place. But nothing on the trigger itself for when you draw

Finally, here is engineering suggestion 1. Put a belt clip on the trigger guard and lengthen the rope. 2. Make sure the clip is made out of steel 3. Put a round silver dollar size sweat guard on the inside next to the body. I wouldn’t trust it

Just catching a falling gun can cause a grabbing finger to enter the trigger guard circle if it’s not shielded. My main use is to cover the trigger on the nightstand or under my pillow, and if I need to walk the perimeter it’s still safe during loose carry in a jacket pocket; no “keys hit the trigger” scenarios. My con is waist band naked carry (AKA “Mexican carry”) can slip. Unlike your preferred “tie it down” use, I use a braided paracord leash (so no loop to snag) then my weak side hand to tug it off. This is so much better than Israeli (not chambered) carry. Your cons are stuff a competitive combat shooter would raise. For low threat home security (you don’t owe drug dealers money! Etc) it’s perfect and much less bulky than a Blackhawk Serpa with paddle removed.

I thought I was the only "Pillow guy"-great use for them. Very fast -hands on. I sure hope it never comes to that, but the potential for defense is quite a bit quicker (I feel that way).

You could glue a piece of leather on the inside portion to keep sweat off of you. Shape the leather as needed. This assuming you carry on your body. I have mine attached to a ring inside a dedicated pocket of my fanny pack. It's a tactical pack which holds the pistol securely and with a quick pull of the zipper, your weapon is out and being released from the trigger guard. Agreed it takes practice.

How in hell do you use a trigger guard holster ?
@MrUkemark089 ай бұрын
Please let me know who to order from. Thank you!
@HalfCrazy5208 ай бұрын
It depends on the holster. Some are too minimal. Some add width to the firearm (might as well use a full Kydex holster). Some have crappy retention. Advantages: Adds no bulk. You can load and unload the gun with the trigger covered. Conceals well. Disadvantages: To re-holster, you must remove the holster, insert the gun, then put the rig back in your pants. The gun is against your body, so you're sweating on it and if your gun has sharp edges it's not comfortable. That said... I switch back and forth between the Essential Holsters 'Naked Holster' and the Zero-Carry for my EDC which is a Sig P-320C in .45 ACP (she's a thick girl). Both work well. The Zero Carry has a built-in tab that acts as a claw/wing to pull the butt in tight to your body, but it's not really necessary and makes the draw slower. A good belt is still required (both use belt clips). I have a laundry basket full of holster and I pretty much hate them all... sometimes less is more.

I've messed with these guards a little, but I personally dislike them. They can come off, or hang up, all things you mentioned. I personally prefer something like a slim IWB kydex, like the Mission First holsters or something similar, even for just slipping it unto a pocket (for smaller guns, of course). I just prefer that consistent, full coverage, etc. Just my 5 cents' worth. Especially with a striker fire, the cons just outweigh the risks (in my opinion).
