Non vegans telling vegans how to advocate for veganism is [chef's kiss]
@robsengahay56142 жыл бұрын
I get this all the time from my wife saying that vegans are going about this the wrong way. I always ask her what the right way is and all she says is education. She refuses to watch any vegan content on KZbin. I say vegans are out there providing information but she says bothering people on the streets is wrong without ever having any other ideas about how to educate the public. I suspect that she thinks most vegan activism is the more aggressive protesting we have seen on the news at the milk fridge in a supermarket.
@Youtubedeletedmyoldhandle2 жыл бұрын
@@robsengahay5614 amazing comment , can relate. The right way, according to non vegans, is waiting for people to be educated, that refuse to be educated and won’t take five minutes out their day to listen to a loved ones insight. Aka do nothing and let them get on with what they are doing. Even top level vegan “annoying” activism or some of the more pointless ones like throwing milk on the floor in the milk isle, people act like seeing that online was such a hinderance to their day, and therefore justifies the rape and murder of billions of animals. “Waa waa you didn’t teach me the right way” Anti vegans most sensitive group of people on the planet
@robsengahay56142 жыл бұрын
@@KZbindeletedmyoldhandle To be fair my wife has switched to a total plant-based diet too and is avoiding all animal products. She is persuaded that plant-based is healthier but thinks there is a stigma to the word vegan so doesn’t identify as such and actually calls herself a flexitarian. As far as the animals are concerned we are in the same place though. I know that she also thinks that vegan activism isn’t great for my mental health as it forces me to confront the trauma that is animal agriculture whereas she has blocked that out completely.
@36ELRIC2 жыл бұрын
@@robsengahay5614 I used to think that about the term Vegan, but then I realised the term doesn't mean a diet, It's an ethical stance, and now I embrace the term. The stigma comes from people not understanding what we are about, and the fear of being ostracised, quite frankly we need the term otherwise the movement gets watered down. Hopefully one day there will be so many Vegans in the world that the term will become obsolete.

I like how the irish fella is basically objecting to veganism on no other grounds other than semantics, because of how (1) he is pissed off his head (2) he is intuitively convinced of veganism, but he wants to keep eating his Big Macs so he has to try and convince himself that veganism is not ethically superior to meat-eating. His entire argument can be destroyed by the fact that words do not have meanings, they have usages.

I like how the angry irish man was the one person (that joey recorded) who took any offence or issue with the vegan chick'n. goes to show the majority are good people and just want nice-tasting food - not getting offended by stupid things and being absolute meatflakes. big up VFC and Joey! 💚🌱

@@Max.Resilience Eating a corpse that was LEGALLY fed piss, shit, ground up diseased animals (including cannibalism and yes this includes cows), growth hormones, antibiotics, and plastic, creates zoonotic diseases which kills millions of people, creates antibiotic resistance which kills millions of people, is destroying the planet, and is filled with diseases and infections is food to you? It's certainly not to me. And animal flesh would contain WAY more pesticides since toxins bio-accumulate up the food chain. Also, so you never eat things like bread, pasta, Oreos, potato chips, cheese, or any processed food at all because you say it's loaded with trash and isn't food? lol
@suicune20012 жыл бұрын
@@Max.Resilience Yeah, yeah. Every other person I talk to claims to get their murder victims from a happy farm. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (the largest body of nutrition experts on the planet), the WHO, and even the HEAVILY animal agriculture funded USDA says it's perfectly healthy to eat a 100% plant-based diet. The CDC states animals that weren't fed antibiotics can still give you antibiotic resistance because they'll naturally contain antibiotic resistance. What essential nutrients are you getting from dead animals I can't get on a vegan diet? Without it, I'm going to wither and die?
@suicune20012 жыл бұрын
@@Max.Resilience You didn't answer my question. What nutrients are you getting from a corpse I can't get on a vegan diet? You know what my body told me when I was a kid as I was eating KFC chicken legs? I was disgusted whenever I reached the tendons and bones. I went my entire life without chewing my food properly because I was always afraid of biting into bones and other nasty crap. I didn't even realize I wasn't chewing properly until after I went vegan and was eating a Beyond brat for the first time. After I got older and moved out, I only bought animal products like chicken breasts which wouldn't have anything to remind me I'm eating a corpse. My body tells me eating corpses is gross. You know what else my body tells me? It tells me I want to eat potato chips, cookies, and vegan cheesecake. Our bodies want to get as many calories as possible with as little effort as possible because our bodies are solely concerned with not dying of starvation. It's not concerned with long term health. Resisting eating those foods is the exact opposite of listening to my body. My conscience tells me I shouldn't be killing other people for a bacon cheeseburger. Plus, I know what the laws say and what the USDA reports say about animals. And since I don't feel it's moral to stab an animal in the throat for fun, I'm not going to support that.

I wouldn't be surprised if that Irish guy was affiliated with animal fharming in some way. Perhaps he has or had a fharm of animals, or he's from a family that fharm animals. Interesting thing I learned in A&P just recently is that as you age, your sensitivity to taste gradually decreases. When you're a child, it's hypersensitive. Toward your middle ages, although less sensitive, it's rather refined with acquired tastes. However, it seems that those acquired tastes really stick with you, quite emotionally, in much older age. It could be very difficult to convince out of eating what they've enjoyed, especially when they have a small level of sensitivity to other foods.
