I appreciate the video although it was very short. I thought the gentleman from Trijicon could’ve talked about his products a little more and given a lot more information. I also agree with some of the other reviewer‘s, in the fact that I do not want to have to change a battery on an optic once a year or even every three years if I have to take the optic off change it and then replace it in zero the gun again. They need to get it figured out or change it, especially with the price they are charging. I know they read the reviews and hear people complaining about it so they need to just fix the issue. I’m going to look in to the battery free option, but they didn’t speak very much on it, so Trijicon if you’re reading this, you need to do a little better job and do more for the people who are having issues with the battery problem.

I'm still on the fence about getting a optic for my pistol. I've been thinking about it for a while. I can just get one for the range so I can get used to it.

So was I until I shot a buddys G17 with RMR. We were hitting steel at 75 yards with ease. You really do focus more on the target instead of aligning your sights just find the dot and shoot

@@relapseFG Plenty of videos on KZbin of guys shooting clay pigeons with handguns wearing iron sights at 100+ yards. 1911 .45 ACPs and HK P7PSP/M8 pistols come straight to mind. Beretta M9/92FS and Sig Sauer P-220, P-226/MK25s and CZ-75Bs as well. It takes a VERY ACCURATE handgun...not a "fancy electronic optic".

i'm not familiar with the trijicon's non-battery rmr, but if it's dependent on tritium, it's lifespan is probably only as long as the effectiveness of the tritium (10yrs??). why would i spend a $100 on it only to have to buy it again in 10yrs?? (and i'm sure this unit costs much more than $100 which makes this even less desirable). heck, as much as i hate buying batteries to use battery operated equipment, i'd definitely go the battery route over this.

Maybe for a hunting or target pistol but I don't recommend red dot optics on EDC or carry self defense pistols at all. Learn how to shoot the proper way with iron sights. I never had to learn because that is all we had when I got started 40+ years ago. It's more to break, wear out or not work.

Backwards mentality. You probably said the same for carbines 15 years ago.

@@mapled3135 I have some red dot optics on some of my ARs but prefer and use A1/A2 iron sights and shoot them exceptionally well. It's all we had for decades and you either learned or you didn't own/SERVED/ISSUED M16/M4 or civilian AR15. Fact is if you can't use iron sights you just can't shoot! Standard U.S. Army qualification was done at 300 meters and U.S. Marines was done at 500 yards with guess what? Yep....iron sights!
