Hi Mr. McColl, How long did you let your jar dry out before trimming it? Does the jar need to be covered once you have trimmed the lid off of it?

Hi, I let the form dry overnight under plastic. The length of time will depend on where you are and how dry your studio is, for example in Southern California the weather is relatively dry, and I need to cover when I leave pieces unattended while if you live in a humid area it might be ok to leave it uncovered overnight. I leave the work uncovered while I am in the studio and cover to slow and control the drying when I am not able to check it. You will find that closed pieces will take longer to dry to leather hard when it will be time to cut and trim. After trimming keep the lid and the body of the pot together to dry (it is not necessary to cover) and fire the pieces together to minimize warping. Thanks for your questions.
