This is a great video, it gives us mere mortals hope that if 'you' can have a bloop of a pot but run with it and adapt as you go, it's gives us hope that we to can take on the clay and take back control. Showing us the 'adding of a new foot', we won't have wasted our time and consigned our pots to the recycle pile. Thankyou for sharing your flaw and how to fix. Xx😊

So glad to see this as it's happened to me and makes me feel less alone in wonkiness! Great solution. Question: when throwing a set of plates, how do you make sure the feet stack well? A master of careful measurement of plate width and identical foot placement? Thanks!

I soooo appreciate you sharing the video eventhough you ran into an issue, and then added your great solution. So relatable and helpful.

The glazed piece just came out of the kiln. You’d never know the pots journey from the final piece! Stay tuned

@MudgirlPottery some of my favourite pieces are the ones that gave me trouble along the way! I've had instructors insist that I should give up on them as issues like that arise but my general philosophy, given I'm still very much in the learning phase, has been that I want to try to figure out a way to finish it effectively. Worst case scenario: it doesn't work, but hopefully taught me something!

@1:11 "what ever this is, 110 inches" LOL, that would be a REALLY big bat (over 9 feet).

I have trimming bats that have a 1 inch layer of foam Glued to the bat. If the pot has a soft bottom I insert another layer or so of foam under the pot. The foam holds the plate on the bat easily without the extra clay holders. It looks like one side of your pot fell a little while it was drying.

Yep we have those too. I just didn’t realize it was off before I started. Lol. I didn’t “learn my pot” as I tell everyone to do

I love when I'm watching a video or a live demo and something goes wrong. I mean how else are people supposed to learn how to fix things or save a pot if we don't see the pros do it. Girl, I wish I could have thrown some lotion through the screen for your itchy arms. It was driving me nuts watching you scratch.

@ I started getting 10 packs of plain unscented name brand Chapstick for my split fingers and knuckles. I live in Colorado so really dry here. I have chapstick in every car, pocket and purse and within a week or so of using it on my cracked hands, my hands have healed up.
