Omg, they have a card for Octavia E. Butler and the keyword for her is "Future." I'm buying it all!! On another note, thank you for these mod videos. I edged my Moonology deck with a black marker and it looks so gorgeous that way. I'm going to buy a cutter and start experimenting!

Wow, amazing! I love your dedication to the process of making the decks feel good and to allow them to work even better with your energies. You have opened my eyes to many possibilities, I previously though that changing the deck would change it in a negative way. But that is definitely not the case, it makes the cards more personal and connecting and reading with them easier! Thank you!❤️

I have to admit I cringed watching you cut into the cards. I personally wouldn't mess with my decks as I see them as artistic expressions of the creators. However, the cards did turn out nicely. It was also interesting and worth the watch to see how you read. I connect with the guides of my decks on a personal level and am working on forming a deep bond with them, so it was really nice to see you connect with Angela and attribute the message to her.

There are some decks that I wouldn't consider cutting into, but for the most part, I see deck mods as an extension of the creative process. It's a collaboration, adding my own energy and creative effort to that of the creator and their original intention. It's certainly not meant to be disrespectful to the creator in anyway, but an expression of co-creation. 🙂 I love watching other readers work with their cards as well, I always learn something new. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️

@@DawnMichelleTarot but it’s not “creating”, you are destroying an artist’s copyrighted design... why don’t you just buy a deck you really like?
@mariajosebarboza7587

Native Virginian there are some decks that we love completely and some that we love except this tiny little thing that can be dealt with to love the deck even more and make it ours! Decks are supposed to be used and loved and connected with, if a little trim does that, I think it’s wonderful! No one does it to disrespect the original art or artist, it’s more like she said, a co-creation. Would you say writing notes in the edges of a text book is destroying the original? Or that cutting a shirt so it fits better disrespecting the creator? Even tho decks are more “artistic” i guess, she modified it so it would serve her better, fit the way she’s going to use it better. Ofc you are entitled to your opinion, I’m just giving mine 😊 have a great day/night/evening 💕
@DawnMichelleTarot

@Native Virginian I like all my decks, otherwise I wouldn't keep them. But some of them I just like a little better after I've added my own creative touches to them. Makes them more personal for me, and seeing as I paid for a reproduction of the product (and not the original work of art) I see no harm in doing what I please with my property. The wonderful thing about mass producing products like this is that we can each use them in a way that works for our unique practice. 🙂 Thank you for watching!

I'm so glad you showed us this. I was really surprised by the huge size of the object cards. Your idea to trim them accordingly is great. I have never trimmed a deck before though, I feel too scared. xD But your video might give me the motivation to try out. (I bough a thing to round corners in a store a year ago or so, for example, but I didn't have a card on me to try out, and when I got home the thing was way too small and my cards couldn't enter it to get new corners! So I felt like a failure and dropped the project)

Love watching the process :) And thanks for the tip on using the crayons marker. I’ve been using an alcohol based art pen on my first couple edgings and getting a surprisingly amount of bleed. I’ll definitely try Crayola next!
@DawnMichelleTarot
@DawnMichelleTarot 5 жыл бұрын
Crayola doesn't seem to bleed much but it can rub off a little bit depending on the color, but generally if you wipe it down it helps with that. It's still one of my favorite ways to edge a deck, quick, easy and affordable. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️

I was wondering how the cards have held up after trimming? I've just bought the deck, was going to trim it down but I've never trimmed a deck with that type of linen finish. Do the edges fray ?
@DawnMichelleTarot

So far they are holding up well, I haven't had any fraying or anything with them. This tends to be a deck I work with more in the autumn, so we'll probably be seeing more of it then. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️

Hi there! You mentioned using the 40 artifact cards like a Lenormand deck. A few artifact cards are a perfect match but did you use the others to replace the traditional Lenormand cards? Like volcano= tower, eel= snake. I couldn’t find anything to answer my question of ‘is it okay to substitute Lenormand images but keep the meanings’. Would that change the readings? I wish they made the artifacts in Lenormand imagery.
@DawnMichelleTarot
@DawnMichelleTarot 4 жыл бұрын
I personally don't work with them in terms of Lenormand meanings, I just use them in a similar way. So I use the meanings for each of the cards as detailed in the book. I more meant that I use them like a Lenormand as in read them in a linear fashion. I hope that make sense! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️

I just bought this deck. Looking for guidance on it. I'm new to reading tarot. This is my second deck. I have the rider Waite one. I went to the store and this one i was drawn to and I couldn't leave w o getting. Do you have videos of you reading with these?
@DawnMichelleTarot
@DawnMichelleTarot 4 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately I don't because I don't really use these cards as a traditional oracle. How I use them is to pull an author for the focus or theme of my reading and then I pull a few witches material card for the actual message. Have you checked out Kelly from the Truth in Story? She has a wonderful walk-through on this deck and I believe she does a reading at the end that you might find helpful. I hope that helps! 🙂 Thank you for watching. ❤️

hi do you have any suggestion for learning the meaning of the 40-witchy cards? Like the ones that say apple etc etc
@DawnMichelleTarot
@DawnMichelleTarot 4 жыл бұрын
I still have to rely on the book some for the meanings of those cards, however most of the time I just use whatever meaning pops into my head. So I read those cards a bit more intuitively in general. Sometimes I find that playing like a memory game with them helps to learn the meanings. Read the meanings in the book, then set the book aside and flip through the cards and note means for each (I usually just jot them down on a piece of paper) and then go back and see what the book has to say. Doing this exercise for a few days should help those meanings to stick in your mind, but don't be afraid to weave in your own interpretations when you can. I think those often have more personal meaning for us than what we find in the books. I hope that helps! 🙂 Thank you for watching. ❤️
