You did a great job. I would put shelves up under the cabinets. That entire wall next to the fridge would be a great place for shelves too.

Hi Trina. Maybe you could add some open shelving over on the blank wall by the microwave? This may be a good place to keep your lovely dishes you showed us. Just a thought. Congrats again on your new home.

Congratulations on your new home! What an exciting time for both of you. All best wishes for a wonderful future! You asked for suggestions so I'm going to add a few being the crazy organized person that I am! LOL I know they may sound silly, but believe me, they will help. First I would move kitchen utensils to the right of the stove if you are right handed. Second, I would move the knife set to the right of the stove if most of your food prep will be near your sink and stove. So any "cooking/prep" items would be better placed between the stove and sink. I would set my coffee station up near the fridge and store the most used mugs in a basket or mug tree. I would keep the juice press near the sink because it can get messy. And lastly, I would set up a catch all area for keys, mail, etc. to the right of the sink; maybe a nice basket or organizer. But whatever you do, have fun doing it!!! I can't wait to see how you decorate the rest of the house. I'm so excited for you!!!

Personally I prefer to have my plates, bowls, glasses, cups etc in the upper cabinets as I find it easier to reach up for them than down. I use a space saving shelf to double up the amount of storage I have in the upper cupboards, along with corner stackers for plates etc. Non perishable food like pasta, rice, noodles etc, goes in pull out baskets or fridge storage drawer type things in the lower cabinets so that I can easily pull them out from the space at the back in my big corner cupboards. Tins are also in a bottom cupboard, but I have jars in a top cupboard and I use a three tiered shelf thing to make them easier to store. I have my kettle/toaster away from any upper cabinets, my Instant Pot and microwave are near a window so I can open that to let steam out if needed. I've got my spices and herbs on racks on the counter top, rather than away in a cupboard for the ones I use the most. The ones I don't use as often are in an upper cupboard along with flour, oils, other cooking ingredients like soy etc. Then my pans etc are in a bottom cupboard which has a pull out rolling shelf in it, which is where my chopping things, stick blender etc are also stored. I have another floor to ceiling cupboard which has big items like my air fryer, steamer, the pans I don't use as often, casserole dishes etc, as well as sandwich toaster, spare baking dishes/trays. I make great use of Carver baskets, those fridge tidy trays and baskets etc as I am disabled and can't easily grab things and these are perfect for being able to not have to bend or stretch too much. Good luck with your arranging, you'll find you keep moving stuff around until you find a layout that works!

When we moved I stuck post it notes onto cupboard doors listing the contents - saved a lot of frustration looking for stuff until we got used to our new kitchen layout.

Hey Trina! Congrats on your new home! I'm loving these moving vlogs! I think your kitchen would really benefit from a mobile island! You can get them from Ikea or really anywhere like that. It would provide more counter space and more storage space too! You can really find one in any size too. Like, a long narrow one would be fantastic!

Hi, you asked for advice on organising the kitchen. I hope this helps. Makes zone's like the food storage zone (cupboards near your fridge) , food preparation zone, (above the food cupboards) the equipment zone, the cleaning zone etc ie a cupboard for snacks a cupboard for all your baking stuff, a breakfast cupboard, a meal cupboard etc. Keep your drinks station near the sink for easy refills. (including coffee machine that's yet to arrive in the corner where it is (use the cupboard above it to store other drinks stuff that's more unsightly and maybe your mugs . BUT keep the kettle as it produces steam on the surface near the tap, away from the wall cupboard The kettle steam if under a wall cupboard can warp the cupboard door. Keep your toaster away from under the wall cupboards too so that the heat doesn't warp the wall cupboards. So I'd probably put your toaster and bread bin near the fridge area on the worktop there. If you have a dishwasher put the plates and glasses etc next to it do its easier to unload it. If you don't have a dishwasher then use under sink storage for your plates etc For safety of children and pets... Locate your cleaning products to a high up wall cupboard and also locate your medication up high. It's a beautiful house enjoy it x

For a less expensive shelves in your cupboards ikea has some that you can buy to give you more storage. It is called the variera shelf unit they come in different sizes. That might help! Looks really nice!

Personally I wouldn’t take out the fridge and cupboard and put the American 1 there I’d just take out the fridge freezer and put in some shelf’s and have that as your food cupboard /pantry (I have 1 and love it ) and then put a bigger fridge freezer in the dining room but with your table it’s big enough xx

Loving these vlogs! They're also incredibly satisfying, haha! My kitchen is quite similar to yours in that we (I) decided that the food worked best in the pull out lower drawers vs. the upper cupboards. Hopefully you're able to find a solution that works for you two! Would love to hear what, if any, plans you have for art? If any! I just love any excuse to find a perfect piece for a blank wall hehe. Oh! And I LOVE that front entry rug! It really sets the tone for your home that it's a cozy, welcoming space! Excellent choice :D

You seem so happy in your new home. Organizing is super fun but hard work too. I just went thru it 2 years ago when I moved into a new home. I wanted to ask about your frig. Didn’t see one. I’m in America and I know we generally have larger ones. Is yours under the countertop and a smaller one? Just curious. For me, the frig is the most important appliance in my kitchen.
