My brother in law of from Trinidad and OMG he makes amazing food!!! I love love love when he cooks!!!!! He made a pot of this and I ate the majority of it to myself!!! I’m Canadian ( newfie) decent I love spicy foods and I swear I would love to go to Trinidad one day just to enjoy the foods and the culture , so beautuful.

I sometimes put dumplings and a little curry.also I always put a whole hot pepper cover it with fig leaf before putting the pot cover on.Well put together Natasha nice

Hey i tried this just today and it came our great only with the addition of some dasheen bush just about 5 leaves but it tasted great thanks for yr receipe

Nat,,, good day to you,,,, thank you for your recipe,,, I am going to try it to make oildown for my wife but I love oildown with dasheen bush which u didn't use,,,, I also followed your video on how to make corn soup and to this day I still use your method on making corn soup and now I'm good at it,,,,, keep up the good work

I put my pig tail whole to boil and change water 3 TIMES at 15min each it cut so much easier without to much effort.🎺😊

Hi Natasha. I don’t like the taste of golden ray butter. Is it needed to add a “special” flavor that’s integral to the overall taste of the dish or can I leave it out? Thanks.

Would it be OK to just use green seasoning? I just made my green seasoning today and pretty much put all the vegetables you used in this recipe in it. So I have used up everything I had for my seasoning.

This tasted really delicious 👍🏾.However I chopped my pig tail after boiling it it was much easier to cut up.

great as usual. we sometimes add dasheen bush leaves when its almost done. i've also seen dumplings and curry powder added. you know what they say in trini we curry everthing lol.just some additional ideas for anyone reading. thanks natasha for all of the time you are giving us. have a nice weekend we have a longgg one here in trini. I like your cooking ,But I also add some Angostura bitters .some dasheen leaves ( Taro Leaves) cloves and a lot of fresh coconut milk ,home grated .Normally I do it on the wood fire outside and cover it with banana leaves to simmer down .My neighbors always came over to partake and to take the recipe

In the Midwest. I brought back some breadfruit from NY with me at the end of May when I was there, but it spoiled. I was just too mad!!

Funny thing Natasha, I froze it, but I did not steam it, so when I cooked it, it had a tainted taste. I'll know for next time. I was so disappointed because they were two nice big ones and they cost me an arm and a leg.

Smoked turkey wings necks .legs or salt beef you'll have to boil it till it gets tender .

yes you can leave out all meat and make this vegies. add some pieces of whole corn to it.

that looks soo good! Where I live its really hard to get hold of salted pig tail. I will pop into the local delicatessen to see if I can find some salted meat. I want to give it a try!

You can add it at the beginning or once the breadfruit starts to soften.

You can use smoked. Turkey wings or necks if you don't eat pork you can use salted beef can be found in any carribean or west Indian stores

This is not a Trinidadian oil down either. Most real Trinidadians cook oil down as the Grenadians do, who brought this dish to Trinidad and have Grenadian heritage, don't call this soupy mixture oil down. Learn the local tradition of how to cook this dish pleeeaaasssee!!!! Its made in layers,..and the final profuct is dry.....you are totally wrong from beginning to end. You are making some kind of indian soup
