Trinidad Corn Soup Recipe - Episode 96

1 tbsp. golden Ray
1 tbsp. butter
1 carrot chopped
1/2 cup pre soaked spilt peas or dhal
1 onion choppes
2 cups chopped pumpkin
celery chopped
2 scallions chopped
1 tbsp. minced garlic
1 hot pepper chopped
2 pimento peppers chopped
1/2 cup coconut milk or milk powder
2 tbsp. green seasoning
1 maggie chicken cube
1 tbsp. all purpose seasoning
1 tbsp. complete seasoning
fine thyme
1 sweet potato cubed
2 potatoes cubed
corn nibblets or 1 tin of creamed corn
2 corn cobs cut into circles
water to cook.
1 1/2 cups flour with 1 tsp salt and enough water to make a firm dough

I agree with everyone else, this recipe is proper! I am making it right now and can't wait to have it later. I have never tried it with sweet potato and I usually blend the carrots as well, but I'm going to try it your way because looks amazing. Well done!

Growing up I never wanted to learn cooking from my mom. I was more into school and studying etc. but today I was standing in the kitchen, my phone in one hand and my spoon in the other, playing this video and making corn soup for the first time ever. The street food in Trinidad is akin to indian roots like puri chole etc. Even mauritius street foods are almost like trinidad street foods. In mauritius, you see a guy with bicycle selling dholl purie around the street corners. Behind his biks is a small glass steel trunk which is a mini restaurant by itself. David Fraser ours and your is pretty much the same thing, yours may be a little bigger or lighter green in colour, so you can use your celery, its fine, you could also add chadon beni to it, clantro in the US adds nice flavour to corn.
