And that brings me to "I can't believe I'M THIS OLD"! It seems only such a short time ago that I purchased this album original release. God how time flies. Good thing that Floyd doesn't seem to age with it. It's still just as moving and intriguing as it was on the first time I heard it.

Steve Swan I'm sure Becca didn't mean to be offensive. I think she was expressing the idea that this music is so nigh on perfect that she could only really do it justice by expressing that thought to the highest and most perfect human in the universe. From a fellow Christian and Floyd fan. Btw please don't say you're going to leave this Earth soon!

Nick Lewis hi Nick as a Christian living in Scotland I hear Jesus's name used as an exclamation or cus word by lots of people on a regular basis and I understand it is not meant to offend Christians but Gods word says we should not use His name in vain ! I think Becca's use would classed as Blasphemy ! Is it not strange the most perfect man to live on earth is hated by so many ? I have never heard anyone ever say O MY ALAH or or use any other pagan god name in this way 🤔 and btw I will be leaving this earth soon relatively speaking ! Only one life will soon be past only what's done for Christ will last 🙏

Arguably Pink Floyd’s best album and in my opinion they’ve never topped this. There’ll be a lot that will disagree, but it is my opinion only. I was a teenager when this came out and now in my late 60’s I understand now how “10 years got behind you. No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun” is so true. My kids are in their 30’s and my eldest granddaughter is almost at the age I was when this was released. Time slips away so quickly. Cherish every second people. This is a great cover and I feel very blessed to have come across it. It also makes me laugh with the track “Money” on side 2 always beeped out “bullshit” in the 70’s on radio stations. I think it was the 90’s before the radio stations stopped doing that.

You are not clear about what a masterpiece is. Mozart , Beethoven, Tchaikovsky and many others could be not considered as great musicians if were not exists performers covering their pieces across the following years. The great new for Pink Floyd guys is today there are young musicians that recognize the greatness of this work in such way to put their skills and time at the service of these compositions. This can be considered the confirmation in time that Pink Floyd effectively composed a masterpiece and then it deserves to be played by others.

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day Fritter and waste the hours in an off-hand way Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town Waiting for someone or something to show you the way Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today And then one day you find ten years have got behind you No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking Racing around to come up behind you again The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older Shorter of breath and one day closer to death Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way The time is gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say Home, home again I like to be here when I can When I come home cold and tired It's good to warm my bones beside the fire Far away, across the field The tolling of the iron bell Calls the faithful to their knees To hear the softly spoken magic spell you welcome x

It's ironic that the video was filmed in a church and focused so much on the cross imagery, because the last lines of the song are actually a criticism of religion.

I'm at the young fresh age of 22, been listening to this band since i was a kid. Their music strikes me as both a warning and a dire call to the future, those of us who come after the generation that inspired, wrote and lived these songs. Every time i listen to the music of Pink Floyd, i find myself floating in an ethereal sea of lost dreams, the dreams of those who came before me. The dreams of a young Syd, a young Roger, a young David. I feel i've learned more just listening to the music about them than most people will ever glean simply hearing them in an interview. As time ticks forever onward with its ruthless onslaught of aging and regret, i find more and more of my life drifting away from my dreams as a child. I know I have a long way to go, and i have these songs to guide me on a path that will differ from the rest.

💜Gorgeous! The album was as moving when I was in college as it is today. Our dorm room 8 track, rigged to multicolored lights, played Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon on a loop through huge stacked speakers, from 9 PM until midnight, everynight. 40 years later, it still creates a sanctuary, a treasured guided meditation. I am so grateful for their significant contributions to my life💜

Their first concerts were so ground breaking, many songs which are now timeless classics were getting introduced to us for the very first time. I was born in 1952 and feel like thanking the ghosts of my parents. 1972 Hollywood Bowl was my favorite concert of all time.

What i love is how all forms of music reproduction succumb to true genius. No matter the status or background genius gets the recognition it deserves. In no other human endeavor does this happen. . Physical art painting etc require decades after the artists death to become of interest. Only music conquers that hurdle. Musicicans have the greatest talent of all humans.
