We really wanted another day! We got in there too late and we were too tired to hike around and see the other lakes. Next time I get back in there I'm going stay for a couple days!

Back to high speed internet where I can watch it on the big screen. I remain impressed with the drone work, especially capturing the Fall colors in this one! Your drone proficiency in the last year or so has taken your vids to a whole 'nother level IMHO. And the closeups of the flora is a treat. Loved those closing shots! Said it before, I'll say it again, the music you lay over your videos puts me in the moment. Too, your vids sustain this flatlander until I can get back out to that part of the country.

Still a long way to go with what I would like to do with the drone. I really should just practice with it on day hikes. I'm trying to get better and better shots. I'm glad you're likely what I've been able to do so far.

Awesome to see No Name and Val out. Val pretty much hit it on the head when she said "the journey was hard and strenuous, but look how beautifully amazing this is." BAMB! And that's why we do what we do. Cameras don't do justice to what we see,smell, and feel on the trail. Awesome drone shots, and great choice of music on the ridge hike into the lake you caught the feel of what a long ridge hike feels like. Great video and this helped me get through my P.M. cardio session. There's beer in the Car! lol

Congratulations on making it in to Trio! Living vicariously in Montana through your videos. I use to do a bit of hiking. Worked for the BLM. Your videos remind me of those days. Thank you. P.S. absolutely beautiful video footage and music.

Thanks for the intel! After taking the trail and going around, if I ever come in that way again, I'll probably just drop in from the top. Looked fairly easy to go off trail and down. That trail coming down from Dalton to Goose, just about did my knees in.

I just discovered the Heart Lake TH this summer and fall. Love seeing the goats up close and was on the ridge above Pearl in early Oct. fall colors were as good as anything I had ever seen. I was dayhiking when that was all the time I had. But the every time you want to go farther in. Thanks for sharing

You were there at the right time of year! The Heart Lake trailhead, in my opinion, is one of the best places to access this country. Easy trail up to Heart Lake, but then.... well, I hope you didn't skip leg-day!

Love it! The most beautiful time of year in The Great Burn. It's awesome that you made it to Trio Lakes! I still haven't made it there. Was going to when I hiked that loop this summer, but I was wiped out when I made it to Goose. I'm going to watch this a lot! The drone shots were great! Love seeing all the places I've hiked. Thanks for sharing! Hike on!

Next time I go in there, and there will be a next time, I think that I might start from Goose Creek. A little more steady up instead of the dramatic gains and losses coming from Heart Lake. I did track myself from the stateline / goose creak junction and it was 1.3 miles to the lower lake from there.
@pilowespo
@pilowespo 6 ай бұрын
@mountainwanderer Goose Creek is definitely the way to go. Have you bought the map of the Great Burn from Cairn Cartographics in Missoula? If you haven't, I highly recommend it. It has very accurate mileage and all the trails. Including Trio Lakes.

Glad you were able to redeem your last attempt to Trio. What a gorgeous area! I’m guessing by now the Bitterroot and Cabinet high country is covered in snow for the winter. I know the Olympics are. Kinda sad to be saying goodbye to the alpine meadows and lakes for the season. But there are still areas on my winter bucket list. Hope you can get out and enjoy the snow.

Yeah, there is snow in the high country now. A friend just went up high on Veteran's Day and ran into over a foot of snow. Our videos take a break, but we don't. We're gearing up for winter now! We'll start scouting out new places to winter camp soon and we're hoping to start skiing!
