das Lied zum ersten Mal am Donnerstag im Konzert gehört und jetzt spielt Ihr das in Eureren tollen Art in der Altstadt, super gut👍🏻 Vielen Dank für das tolle Konzert am Donnerstag, es war wunderschön. Ich habe mich unglaublich gefreut Euch live sehen zu können. Ein tolles Erlebnis, das mir noch sehr lange große Freude bereiten wird. Danke auch noch Mal an die Veranstalter des interkeltischen Folkfestival, die Euch zum einzigen Konzert in Deutschland gewinnen konnten. Es war die Erfüllung eines Traumes für mich😉

This is the first time I've heard the Trio in a language I understand doing a song I'm very familiar with. I doubt the Trio realizes that this song, especially the tune, is very familiar to many Americans. As a child with some German ancestry (from Swabia/Wurtemmburg no less) it was one of the few German lieder I heard growing up. I think most Americans can hum it. We sang it as children. Thanks!! It was fun hearing you do it with a bagpipe chanter.

I know the tune from the 3 Stooges on a harmonica and Schultz would sing it on Hogans Heroes...so we pestered our Irish nun teacher to have the class learn it, and she knew the song! Wonderful, thank you.

The "liebe Augustin" in Germany...? (because of the half timber houses - that is not in Austria) But it sounds good! This is a traditional folk song from Vienna! A musician, Augustin, slept drunk in the street during the plague. In the night the downtaker came and collected the corpse of the death from the sreets - and so they throw the sleeping Augustin into a mass grave, were he woke up in the morning... They found him singing this song on top of the corpses, unable to get out of the grave without help. So he and his song became a legend - and part of austrian culture. Whatever happens, don't take it serious - just drink and sing. Greetings from Austria🇦🇹
