Really nice video! I flew in a 767 on this flight four years ago in economy class overnight. It wasn't very comfortable but its nice to see what the business class passengers got to experience lol!

Thank you very much! I am happy I got to fly in the B787 instead of an B767, I think that is a big difference already! To be fair, I am a little too young to have seen the B767 in it's glory days...

Brilliant trip report. I'm surprised that the Char Siu dish tasted bad, usually Chinese food is one of the easiest thing to eat of an inflight meal. Thanks for sharing your experience

Thank your for watching! I specifically chose this routing, since I didn't want to end up in an A321... To be fair, I had a lot of choice since I am connecting from the EU, but the flight with the 787 seemed the best, as you get the long haul cabin!

I have been on a 767 only once in my life, and that was in a domestic configuration in Japan. Also never been on a 757 btw! Do they have a decent product there? On another note - With that trip I finally got my oneworld Emerald! Hope you are enjoying your Star Gold as well :D

Fantastic trip report! Pretty interesting American decided to recently start using 787-9s on DFW-HNL, they've been 777-200ERs for the past years!

That's interesting, considering my connecting flight to Madrid was on one of those 777-200ERs. I'd rather have the 787 on the longer part, although the cabin itself is almost the same now. Thank you for your comment!

That is funny because the Char Siu pork was one of the best airline meals I've ever had.

For me it wasn't even the pork that was bad. The meat was totally fine, but those noodles... I think it was my first time not finishing an in-flight meal.

american has not had a full breakfast on any hnl-dfw flights, and what you received is definitely upgraded, as it used to be an odwalla smoothie before landing into dfw. aa does not consider flights to/from dfw as anything international-like, and categorizes the flights as touristy, which also includes lax-hnl/ogg/lih/koa and return. originally, there were no canceling headsets until the 777 and 787 aircraft came into play.

It definitely was, and it worked fine. I have heard stories from other people of seats deflating mid-flight...

It depends, is all I can say, really. Pros: You get your food first The lavatories are close first row experience (:P) Cons: Can be rather noisy because of crew chatter, and generally cabin crew passing by all the time. You'll be last in Business Class to get off the plane. If you want your flight to be as quiet as possible, I would take a seat further back.

The overhead bins are still shared, I would say on average two passengers use one bin, so there should be no issues.
