I just booked a ticket on Ethiopian Airlines in March on the same route... I hope they won't switch it to a B777 as well :D

I think the 787 is better than 777 of Ethiopian Airlines. Tbh I was very disappointed when I got inside the plane and saw the cabin in bad condition.
