Thanks for the video. I hope you don't mind me sharing my trip plans, and if you have any suggestions, I welcome them. We fly into Matsuyama at 10:05 and barring unexpected events, we will visit Matsuyama Castle. After that, my plans start to get really unknown but we have to be at Toyo Port no later than 20:30. We could visit the Dogo Onsen area after the castle and catch Ishizuchi 102 at 19:32, but I don't like that option, as I think it will be too dark to see anything. So, I'm inclined to plan on Matsuyama Castle and, if time permits, go to Dogo Onsen. However, I just have a feeling we won't have time, so I would forget Dogo Onsen and catch Shiokaze 24 at 15:28 and arrive at Niihama at 16:36 (only an hour!). Do you have any thoughts? Oh, and it is Golden Week, so that might mess everything up!

Great report! This series 8600 is really cool and my future target. Would you recommend us to take a seat on right hand side (toward Matsuyama) because of the view of the Seto Inland Sea?

Thank you very much! I enjoyed every moment onboard of the 8600 Series. I was first in doubt taking the older 8000 Series Anpanman train, but opted for the more futuristic looking one in the end and I didn't regret it. For the best views of the Seto Inland Sea, I would definitely recommend a seat on the right hand side in the direction of travel when going to Matsuyama. However, when crossing the Great Seto Bridge, the view on the left is actually nicer. Still, I would go for the right side.

@@Tjuk02 Great, thank you for your reply! Yes, the Seto Bridge is another highlight along this railway line. So, a bit hard to decide which side is better, haha. But, as you say, on the right side, there are more chance to capture the nice views of Seto Inland Sea. Thanks a lot!
