TRIP REPORT | One Last Trip on A340! ツ | SWISS A340 | London to Zurich

SWISS Trip Report onboard one of their last Airbus A340 from London Heathrow to Zurich on a beautiful autumn afternoon.
An amazing and unforgettable flight. That's all that I can say from this trip on the SWISS A340. I was looking forward to flying the A340-300 before they retire them from the European market. Finally, I was able to book a flight on the SWISS A340. It was just fantastic. I think it's one of the best videos I have on the channel. I sincerely hope that you will enjoy the trip report as much as I did.

Lovely video mate. It always nice seeing wide body aircraft being used on short haul flights. I see they have been using the Edelweiss Airbus A340 on the LHR-ZRH route over the last new days as well. ✈️

I really enjoyed this video. I noticed that Heathrow doesn't use baggage tractors with a train of dollies anymore. Instead they now use trucks for luggage. Only on this channel we get those detailed interesting aviation stuff.

Ηi Lucas,this video was a pleasant surprise for me.Always a pleasure watching a flight report in a widebody plane and especially a classic A343.My only memory from A343 was 25 years ago when I flew from Zurich to Hong Kong in a Cathay Pacific one.These planes at that time were brand new and very comfortable.Anyway I liked the report very much.Loved the wingview.Cheers

Excelente video! En el 95 tuve el gusto de viajar en un A340 de la TAP Air Portugal nuevo de paquete! Realmente es un avión sobrio, silencioso, con todo en su punto y excelente calidad, pena que los están descontinuando, pero en fin, hay que dar paso a las nuevas generaciones. Tu video estuvo como siempre buenisimo, las vistas fantásticas, los aeropuertos de diseños impresionantes y la calidad de imagenes sorprendente. Felicidades! 👍

Very nice trip report and glad you managed to get on that flight! My favorite flights on A340 were a long time ago: Etihad A340-500 AUH-FRA and Lufthansa A340-300 CPT-MUC. Both in Business Class with amazing service! I had some more LH A340 flights mainly to/from the US. Cheers

The A340 isn't planned to leave Swiss as far as I know, it should even be getting a new Premium Eco cabin. We should still have a bit of time with this big bird ... Great video!

Brilliant video! You got a really nice wing view on an A340-300. You're super lucky to fly on it because many airlines are retired it on their fleet nowadays. Despite the old plane, I'm surprised to see the Swiss A340 cabin, the seats and the IFE are modern, the legroom is quite big too. I immediately subscribe your channel for more videos about the A340.

Excellent video! Do you know when they will retire this aircraft from their fleet? I'm looking on the same route as you from LHR to ZRH but all the routes seem to show the airbus a220 and a320. Can't seem to find the a340-300

Es triste que no podamos ver LX en el Aeropuerto de Incheon. Hace unos años LX trató de iniciar la operación en este país, pero debido a que ICN estaba saturado sus esfuerzos fueron en vano.

Well, for now, they are still flying for only a couple of them... Hopefull the pandemic won't accelerate even more the retirement process of these 4-engine planes... At least we know that Lufthansa wants to make the B747-8 their flagship... so we'll have them at least flying for the next 10 years or so :)

Es una pena que cada vez menos A340-200 y 300 estén volando en europa, entiendo que ya sean aviones antiguos y que las aerolínes busquen aviones bimotores más eficientes por temas de economía pero los cuatrimotores como este y los 747-400 le dan un ambiente especial a los aeropuertos con su imponente presencia, esperemos que sigan volando más tiempo en otras partes del mundo, excelente vuelo con Swiss

That's truly a unique experience! An A340 on an intra-EU flight! Also, you got the refurbished cabin with new ZIM seats! LHR is also a great place for plane spotting and, since several airlines have been transferred from T3/T4 to T2, you also got the chance to spot several airlines that usually don't operate from T2!

That's not a real plane. Is just a generic model of a plane to be used for training. It's very common that all airports have one like this for firefighting training. Hope you've enjoyed the trip report! Have a nice weekend :)

Muchas gracias. Me alegra que te haya gustado. Por ahora el software con el que edito no me permite poner más que un cuadro de texto por clip, por lo que tu idea, aunque buena, no la puedo llevar a cabo. A mediados de Enero actualizo my Macbook y comenzaré a editar en Final Cut. Es de esperar que la edición de los vídeos mejore exponencialmente. A ver si es posible aplicar tu idea entonces, porque me parece buena. Saludos :)

It is cheaper to make a flight every X days like this one that maintains the plane and crew current than the maintenance and simulator costs without flying.

Evidentemente, el A340 está preparado para llevar 15 veces más combustible del que llevó en este vuelo. Evidentemente va a hacerlo todo mucho más rápido así.
