No there not safe. Just for the fact that this aircraft is 30+ years old with an enormous amount of flight cycles and flight hours on it, its likely not even structurally safe. You couldn't pay me enough to fly on that plane. I would love to look at the x-rays of the fuselage they take during heavy maintenance visits. I bet there is cracks all over that fuselage.
