Really loved this as always. Remember seeing a Saudia 777-300 up close at the terminal at O.R Tambo Int' in Joburg while waiting for a connecting flight and couldn't believe how massive these birds are up close. Love Saudia.

AHHHH I thought I missed one of your last videos, I return yesterday from London, I flow with EL Al on their 787-9(for the first time), what a shame :D. I loved the 789! so quiet, with large windows, I Thought of you when the pilot start the engines, it to sooo long(i remember you said that on one of the videos). and the return was on Wizzair from Luton..we had 2 hours delay..so annoying, but I had fun overall flying again after 2 years due to Covid :D. Can't wait for the next videos!

Regarding Wizzair, yeah, what to do.. There is some flights from Dubai (5 hour ones) and I don’t know if I love you all so much to go and film that. Still waiting for my Israel trip, just want them to remove the on arrival PCR test because I already tested negative leaving Dubai but positive on arrival in Serbia and that would really mess up my life. But it’s in the making!

The reason the flaps are lifted by an inch during engine start-up of a B787 during engine start and taxi is to prevent scraping of the ends of the spoilers from scraping on the flaps when the flaps are extended. I am sure you will know already by now ;-)

Good review, thanks! The seat quality and leg space sound especially good. The one thing that Saudia seems to get pulled up on most often is the service level - both on the ground and onboard. It sounds like on this short flight that wasn't an issue?

I believe that Saudia is improving service level wise to attract more tourists or connecting travelers vs the other Middle East Airlines. I trust there will be many more changes coming to Saudia soon, but I can see it’s already heading the right way. I’ve even read that the government is planning a whole new airline, so I guess Saudia would want to step it up to avoid that. Time will tell! The interesting world of aviation..

Neville always has the cool facts!😎 In terms of land area it’s the second biggest after Dammam’s King Fahd Airport. But you’ve seen how the area looks like😛. The snack service was more then enough. Do you know why during landing, the crew would ask passengers to raise there window blinds up?

I do know why Rafi! So in case of any emergency people, specially crew, would have to immediately assess the outside conditions (fire, smoke, etc). So if a window blind happens to be closed it could waste precious seconds. There has been many recent events of evacuations with doors being opened that should never have been opened. So it’s basically just a prevention!

I enjoy this one. I enjoy to see all the progress going on in Saudi Arabia. It feels like flying in the 21st century (I’ve had some interesting experiences on Saudi Arabian many years ago that felt like a time machine). I want to tell you that all your videos have some sort of spelling issues. Most of the time it's just a typo, but still I think you can make it better. Please take care of this issue. Sadly my editor has no autocorrect and it takes me over a week to edit most video’s working for many hours mostly until late at night, so there’s just nothing more I can do as I end up seeing double. I don’t mind them after living for over 11 years in The Middle East. I hear them all the time. Etihad also has travel prayers before every safety demo. And I’m sure many others still do. Most of Saudia’s customers are Muslim and a vast majority fly for religious purposes, which explains the prayer area too, so I’m understanding with it. But I’ll have to say the voice is a bit serious😄

I understand. And yes, don’t think there is any airline with some Christian prayers around. Even I would find that weird. However, from an aviation lover perspective I love the variation. I’m glad I’ll be able to say one day that I saw “Saudia’s prayer area”, the A380 bar lounge, and jet fuel powered aircraft. All these things will be a thing of the past at some point!
