Gotta love parking at a jet bridge gate only to deplane using stairs.

Very common in the Nordics. Usually passengers sitting behind the midpoint of the aircraft are instructed to leave via the back but people just take whichever que is shortest. I personally like disembarking at the rear as you see your plane when walking on the tarmac. Have a great evening

Thank you for sharing your trip report. I agree with you about the "middle" seat needed and hoped further back in Economy Class. The space to turn that direction and relax your legs is important. It was good you went to the membership lounges before the flight to have a nice and further selection of a meal. I do that with my memberships as well. Furthermore, those long-haul flights are long so, that is why I go for Business Class and then if it is full then the first row of Premium Economy, for me, is what I go for. I am a tall 6'2" guy who needs the room.

Nice trip report, iam a ramp agent at GOT and the reason for the stairs is due to our jet bridges have been broken for the last 6 months.

Well, I have the reason for why you disembarked why stairs and not the jet bridge. This is quite a story; You arrived at the new terminal extension which was completed in June 2020. Adelte (the company who manufactured these jet bridges) started the installations of three jet bridges at the terminal expansion in March/April of 2020. And it has been a total disaster from the start. Adeltes technicians installed cables made for inside use only on the outside of the jet bridges and they where also grounded inaccurately during installation. They didn´t keep to their deadline, and kind of left the jet bridge as they were for almost two and a half year while Swedavia (Airport operator) field a guarantee claims with Adelte. Once proper installed they couldn´t handle the Swedish winter... Oil and fluids froze, and the bridge were barley driveable. There were many occasions where ground handlers almost crashed the jet bridges into aircrafts, and it eventually happened. Ironically it was technicians form Adelte who did it during one of their troubleshooting sessions. They punctured the fuselage on an A321. An investigation showed that the jet bridges lacked enough sensors for emergency stops for when a collision with an aircraft was imminent. So once again Swedavia had to claim both an insurance and guarantee from Adelte. It´s a bit unclear on when they will be back in use again. Some say they are just waiting for a signature on piece of paper, and some say that they must install more emergency stop sensors. As of July 2023, they are not in use. I know all of this because I work at the airport.

That's crazy! It reminds me of all the issues that went on with the new Berlin Airport!

7 1/2 hours on a single isle, with bonus crying baby on landing. You have a better attitude than most :)

Would not want to do a single aisle plane on transatlantic! Did 6.5 hours on 737 max to Hawaii it was cramped

Good to know about this new route. Had no idea. However legroom on SAS is a disaster. On the A330 they offer extra legroom seats.

I flew years ago to the usa on sas and I recall it being nice. This new trend of flying narrow bodies across the pond (TAP, Aer Lingus, sas, iberia, etc) may be more cost effective for the companies but it's totally uncomfortable for those of us that fly economy. And on top of that, they're stingy with drinks and other services. Wel...that's just how the story goes I guess. Not really looking forward for my upcoming CPH-IAD flight. Thanks for ur video.

I'm stating the obvious, but that is a long time to be squeezed into a narrowbody. If, instead of having an empty seat in the middle there had been a large person, it would have been a rough 7.5 hours.

With the wifi they have it disengaged until a hour after takeoff. I use it on SAS all the time

It didn't work the entire flight, and as I mentioned in the video, my friend flew the same exact aircraft 3 weeks later and it didn't work for him either. I had no issues with the WiFi when I flew on their A330 a few days later

Lots of international airlines partner with it, it’s just at that part of EWR, there’s no separate line so you get a ticket to show the officer you have precheck

The Norwegian Government has sold off all of its shares in SAS so it is no longer the flag carrier of Norway.

I would never go cross the Atlantic on this baby jet.. Ever. Rather i would pay more for an airline that uses a bigger plane.

When I read your comments I kinda 😂… People wanna travel abroad with a luxurious conditions: space in economy class free drinks snacks lots of entertainment access to biz lounge etc etc etc but don’t want to pay the price …. I am afraid that the new traveling experience could be the 321 LR, XLR.. either you pay for what you get and be happy or just take a large aircrafts carrier, but even on this last point human beings complain… it’s all about spoiled ppl world …
