Not the most appetizing meal for sure. I've flown them recently and have found their food to be decent, so it's a shame catering screwed up.

These 757-200s are ex-CO 757s. United largely uses them on transcontinentals, Hawaiian flights, and "thin" transatlantic flights (routes like ORD-DUB, ORD-EDI, EWR-EDI, etc.).

Great trip report! The LAX Polaris lounge is my favorite, would love to see any footage from that if you have any. The food was absolutely atrocious on both of your flights NRT-LAX and LAX-EWR. The chicken served on this flight was the old chicken they use to serve on regular domestic flights (it has since been removed) but even back in June it was not suppose to be on transcon routes so you really got unlucky with the food! At least you had the Polaris lounge food to enjoy!

Looks like catering company issues. UA probably went cheap to the lowest bidder so that's what you end up with.

I too hate it when a flight is 'perfectly ruined' by either a sloppy crew, or terrible food. Pity. Long live the 757 though!

I would not eat that also.The most disgusting meal I have ever seen on a flight .United need to improve greatly.When you pay all that money you expect better than that.
