I would recommend a red lens on the headlamps and flashlights. The light is not as well seen by people far off like the guards.

If I am not mistaken, the biggest danger to them is radioactive dust. But radiation varies in different areas. Some have normal background radiation and some have very high levels. I've seen a lot of their Chernobyl exploration videos. And they had one close call when one of their friends appeared to display radiation poisoning. Although he did pull through. It is not known if he really did have it, but they know the risks they're taking.

Meh, more important to take care you don't ingest anything.. External radiation is seldom a problem, unless you are directly staring at some once hot object (nuclear waste etc).. There is some nuclear core fragments in Chernobyl of course, but the stuff is only near the plant and also in the ground.. (e.g. not recommended to go digging there without proper prrcautions)

@@rkan2 They pretty much cleaned the graphite and core particles out and buried them somewhere. Pripyat is a safe place to visit nowadays, but If you live there for YEARS it would start to affect your health.

However, if you were to live in an apartment there, and never make the mistake of ingesting anything there (dust, dirt) you most likely wouldn't be more at risk to get anything.
