2 years of daily use with the earlier version. Zipper pulls have frayed but other than that practically new. I live in the tropics, get caught in heavy rains, never had an water seepage. My top handle is a little higher but the way it is designed is brilliant, ie sewn into a larger piece of tough material. When you lift it, it feels connected to the whole bag. Wish they made this in a 35-40L version. I'm 6'1" and it fits well, clears my belt. Best harness I've worn and wish the rest of my bags were as good, feels good empty as well as loaded. The structure or stiffness to the frame makes it easier to get on and off or swing to one shoulder to access front panel. It also doesn't snag my watch as often as say my Peak Travelpack. I've never noticed the sound of the material or had someone look at me cross-eyed as I was making funny noises ; ). Tech pouch has worked for me. Phone goes into zipped pouch, pens, biz cards, keys, AirPods not the others. Zippered parts to keep things extra safe. Deep enough to hold things but not to deep to get lost. Haven't carried cam batteries personally, as when I carry a carry it's in it's own Temba bag, where I can keep it all together. The material sheds water and seems to repel dirt, so if it gets dirty I just wipe it down and it's like new. To sum up, it's become the standard against which I judge all other bags. A perfect everyday carry, bombproof, fairly minimal aesthetic.

Awesome write-up, Christopher! Thanks so much for sharing this. Really digging the system you've got going on here and how you've been able to make this pack work for you. It sounds like you've definitely put this bag to the test, so it's great to hear that it's still holding up well too. 🙌 - Rebecca

Cool pack, but don't understand the load lifters on a 24L pack. I've seen 35L backpacking packs w/o load lifters. Also, at $325 this is more than a $100 more expensive than a (fellow USA made) TB S25, which is crazy. To each their own of course, just not seeing the value.
@PackHacker25 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us, Chris! We get what you're saying when it comes to the load lifters. They're not always necessary to have on a pack this size, but it's nice to have the option as long as they don't get in the way or interfere. We'll keep you updated over on the product page. 😊👍 - Rebecca

it affects it, my fastpack is ripped right there where the cinch strap meets the top of the pack.

I have the 2018-19 version. The "fraying" on the zipper pulls happens on mine too. I wish I had different pockets on the back...mine is just one passthrough pocket for the laptop.

This bag came up on my Instagram as an advert and caught my eye. It does seem like something that would be compared to the Tom Bihn synapse, or the Synik. But I think the Tom bihn is better built.
@christopherreily18953 жыл бұрын
Interesting and valid point. I have both (and yeah, a backpack problem). They are very different bags and would say they are almost the same quality (TB has the long term edge for now though). The big difference is the TB packs easily and carries a ton. Very easy to use and everything is exactly where it should be. The Axiom is sleek and carries like a champ. At full capacity I prefer the Axiom's straps and carry system. I'm really happy to have both and with a family of four they both get used a lot.

A collab, and you just came from Seattle? If you’re doing a Tom Bihn collab I’m gonna faint and then buy all of them. WHEN WILL WE KNOW TOM!?!? 😂😂😂

LOL, wait he said Portland? I'm guessing North St maybe. If it were Tom Bihn I too would faint/buy.

Hey! How well does this pack stand upright when set to the floor? Especially if packed for, for example, daily commute or like you had it for a short trip? Thanks for showing us this preview! This is very useful to get good ideas on the pocketing and functionality.
@PackHacker25 жыл бұрын
Pierre Ott - you got it! The bag doesn’t stand up on it’s own too well because the top has more depth than the bottom (a bit top heavy) and the stiffer frame sheet can tilt the bag forward. - Tom

What is the exterior material ? is this bag suitable for 1/2 night travel ?
@PackHacker24 жыл бұрын
Hey AKASH - you can find out all of the materials and other technical details on our product page here packhacker.com/travel-gear/triple-aught-design/axiom-24-pack/ 😊 And, at 24L this pack can be used for 1-2 nights of travel depending on what you like to pack, or even for longer trips if you like to travel more minimally. Hope this helps! 👍 - Rebecca

How do peak design packing cubes fit in the axiom 24?
@PackHacker24 жыл бұрын
Hey Michael - we just tested this out and the medium Peak Design Packing Cube fits well at the bottom of the bag, but the small Peak Design Packing Cube can only be packed to 70% capacity if you want that one to fit in the bag as well. Hope this helps! 👍 - Rebecca

@@PackHacker2 It's awesome, hold weight so well. I can run with the pack without it moving or swinging as much as other packs I've owned. Wish my other bags were this well built in this area.

This pack is definitely overpriced compared Evergoods, Brown Buffalo, Tom Binh, and Goruck. Consumers are essentially paying for the TAD gear brand.
