Killer Cow Here - Would love suggestions to make the map more competitive. I don't believe there is currently a way to lessen the years on the wonder unfortunately. But I do believe if played competitively there should almost always be one of the countdowns below 150 years. I am currently working to make a very similar TRIPLE Koth map that is much more center focused, and also with a much faster start (aka 20 vils start to make the game progress quicker) any more ideas would be appreciated, thanks for watching!!!

To get the wonder countdown lower you can give each player multiple wonders even when not holding the hill and destroy them when they reach a preset value. It would probably make the timer a bit more confusing and make a lot more noise though.

For a ffa, indestructable gaia market in the south could add value to that area. It seemed like the south wasn't valuable

The map is really cool. The players didn't seem to have too much map awareness, so perhaps shared outpost vision sprinkled across the map could help. Otherwise, this is the best KOTH map I've ever seen in AOE2

T90 Fanboy Skrompeterto here, I was just very anxious as I'm 800 ELO and wasn't expecting to get chosen so I really wanted to stay in it for a while (plus I rarely play Gurjaras they're pretty different than other civs). I should have spread out further at the start and take some time to look at the map properly, but nerves man, nerves XD I also never play king of the hill >.>

350 was perfect, in my humble opinion. More incentive to defend well. Also, killing an opponent becomes a reasonable strategy again.

yeah the problem with it being 100 is as soon as it gets reset its STILL under pressure. if it gets reset to 350 people can sit back for a sec, chill and regroup/ pop up

This had nothing to do with Diplo... people were just caught up in their personal feuds moreso than trying to see the bigger picture. For instance, Cyan could've give up the middle Wonder and got to Orange much earlier, but he didn't and things went south real fast in the end. Giving up his wonder would've made the game go on since he could let others pass and just all roll Orange together to reset things. He'd have another chance to win right after that, but just throwing away all the army for his wonder which was behind on the timer anyway was useless. Although he almost saved the day at the end it could've gone much smoother. Yellow dropping was shitty, Red deciding to help Blue against Green was somewhat a waste of time as well at a certain point. But hey, games won't be perfect ever and they're still exciting, so there's that! Either way, diplo ain't the problem... it's just people not making the best decisions, and most of the time, not making the right decisions IN TIME. Exciting game still but you could see Orange got a free setup to win for a long time.

Don't agree that the timer should be shorter. These players couldn't even push properly with 350 years. Any shorter and the game would almost always be won by the first player to get a half-decent hold on one. Having three monuments just completely changes the interactions with them and the countdowns. I also think diplo would be fine here compared to normal KOTH because that cycle of whoever holds the wonder getting seamlessly 1v6ed won't happen with three wonders and three countdowns. I actually think a little more ability to coordinate and not have to run through enemy bases would help the game quality and help prevent a case like this game where a player wins almost completely unchallenged.

They had 350 to "strategize" and failed miserably. 150 would have just had orange win faster. This was one of the worst commie games ever. You can't have people who don't know how to play the mode play the mode. If they don't focus on the objective, the timer is really not even an issue. It was a frustrating watch. I think the multiple wonders only added confusion and not strategy.

So far I have watched 2 comentary vids in which nobody notices the Wonder countdown is inching closer to 100 years and also nobody sends even a small notice like "hey, somebody go target this guy" I play singleplayer so I understand if it is stressing in the moment but COME ON MAN.

At 150, there would be a constant battle for the wonders. And since there are 3, the winner is likely the one who is left after other tough battles were fought. I would go 250.

I think its because its not true KotH, the one controlling the monument just trigger a newly built wonder for them down south. That is why it keep resetting to 350 yrs, because its a new wonder, not transfer of ownership.

One would think that yes, grey is in the crossfire and likely to be taken out of the game first, but knowing how dedicated cyan is to not protecting the wonders and take out grey, I think that claim was more than accurate. It's so sad that teal and red can't work together properly and pay attention to what is actually going on with orange. Such a throw

I think a triple king of the hill with actual kings (regicide, maybe even exploring kings) would be pretty epic. With the no build area around the wonder it would force the players to either defend both home (or wherever you decide to garrison your king) and the monument or to commit completely and leave the king open for snipes. To prevent garrison the king near the monument we could increase the no buildings area surrounding the monument. Or I don't know if it possible, but to set the building on a region to just simply not accept any garrison.

How about 4 king of the hills in the center of each quadrant, plus exploding kings that can't garrison buildings, but have the res trickle on? I agree that there is no harm in doubling the amount of resources and spreading them across the map.

Mix it up, king of the hill ANNNND add in kings. You have to protect your king whilst also playing king of the hill. Now THAT would be hard. You could hold the monument until the last moment but if someone sneaks your king, BOOM.

I don't like diplo for koth, but in this map it might work. I'm just not a fan of koth in general, because it really does seem like all the games are boring like this. I never understand why there isn't more fighting in these games. Orange simply played it better than everyone.
