We have a new tradition here at Missouri Star: Triple Play! Once a month, Jenny, Misty, and Natalie each demonstrate their own, unique take on a classic MSQC pattern. This week these talented Doan ladies are demonstrating three new ways to use one of our favorite MSQC blocks: Flying Geese!
Jenny: The "Every Which Way But Goose" quilt is made with charm packs and yardage. Her fabric is Aunt Grace's Apron Charm Packs by Judie Rothermel for Marcus Fabrics.
Misty: The "Gaggle of Geese" quilt is also made with charm packs and yardage. Her fabric is Kaffe Florals Rainbow Charm Pack by Kaffe Fassett for FreeSpirit Fabrics.
Natalie: The "Westwind" quilt is also made with charm packs and yardage. Her fabric is a Missouri Star exclusive: Shadow Play Charm Pack by Maywood Studio. Natalie creates her flying geese blocks using a different method that you're sure to love!
As always, each of these projects is quick, easy, and fun!

Okay.....time to be HONEST here. I follow Jenny & the gals all the time. I love Misty's Tuesday Videos.....and this Triple Play every 3rd (THIRD) Friday is FAST BECOMING one of my FAVORITE ways to watch tutorial on Fridays!!! (and yes, it's 1:15 AM Friday morning.....I confess, I wake up EVERY Friday AM to watch the Friday Tutorials....and then go back to bed filled with anticipation for the next quilt on my TO DO list...and TBH....the list has never stopped GROWING.....(it's HUGE!!) When the gals started this newest video......well, let's be honest here, I'm partial to Jenny's tutorials. I've been watching Jenny since 2009 when MSQC began making the sporadic tutorial videos on KZbin. Back in those early years of MSQC, the tutorials weren't every week, they were once a month (if that....it seems). I love going back in time watching Natalie make that first video or two....and bless her heart, the videos were good....but they didn't have that spontaneity that Jenny brings to the videos of today in 2020. Jenny's son Alan was quick (apparently) to notice that the videos that MSQC was putting on KZbin lack something, and that was Jenny!!! IF you can, go back to those first videos Jenny made....and it's almost comical.....it's clear to those who watched the video, Jenny was scared to death, or so we thought.....Actually Jenny admitted in a video (I think it was for a clip for the local TV station that did a piece on MSQC....not sure) that she had tripped over something and broke her foot/leg(?) !!! So, no wonder she was sitting down through that entire video! As time went on, MSQC continued on, picking up more and more video subscribers in those early days....and these weekly videos have become a much sought after thing to do on Fridays. When Jenny started this Triple Play video....I have to confess, I didn't like the quilt....but this has happened to me before....and before Jenny was finished with her part in the Triple Play....of course I was hooked!!! I now want to make Jenny's version of that quilt from 2 Sugar Sack II Charm Packs I purchased. Then along comes Misty.....Misty is such a breath of fresh air to MSQC....she's an amazing sewist.....and why wouldn't she be? I'm sure a lot of Jenny's skills have rubbed off on her. Anyway, I LOVED Misty's quilt.....and have my own stash of Kaffee Fassett Charm Packs!!! So, there's another quilt to put on my "To DO List" . OF course.....MSQC's Triple Play saved the best for LAST.....Natalie's precise way of explaining how to create the 3rd and final quilt of the series is amazing. Natalie is an amazing quilter in her own right.....courtesy of what she's learned from her mom, Jenny! Okay....Okay....sorry for the long comment everyone but, I just had to said just how much these Triple Plays Tutorial each 3rd Friday of the month have become one of my Missouri Star Quilt Company FAVORITES!!! Good JOB ladies......and THANK you once again!! Your videos make this Pandemic "Stay At Home" order worthwhile....it really has. For those of you that are trying to find Jenny's first video....here it is, I've saved you the trouble of looking. ENJOY:kzbin.info/www/bejne/foKwaap_bpqrm6s

Because of arthritis so bad in my thumbs and wrists, I had quit quilting and when I heard people machine quilted I was like oh never ..never never that’s cheating lol until I saw your tutorials, then I thought wow why would I deny myself a passion I once loved so much….and now I have my sewing and quilting room and have been machine quilting ever since. I still only hand bind though after I sew the front down. Thank you god sent me an angel when I discovered your channel. Thank you beyond measure ❤

I haven’t quilted yet but watching your video and your interpretations on the same theme I got an inspiration: how about starting with the largest pattern block in the center getting smaller towards the borders of the flying geese like a combination of the 3 different versions in degrade or “ ombre “ in size of the patches or squares... that would be fun! Love you all and what you do and have done. ❤️

Fabric is a precious commodity to me. NATALIE, you saved my life! I started quilting 2 1/2 years ago. I can make a flying geese with ease now. But.. I can’t read a pattern. I bought a quilt kit. My first reliance on a written pattern, eeek. The pattern gives inadequate instructions on the 4 at a time flying geese. It doesn’t refer to them as that..but that is what it is. I came to the triple play of flying geese and bang there you were teaching us that method ! I will survive this pattern and I am so thankful for your patient and clear instruction.
