The algorithm is crazy. I’m subscribed to several channels that I often forget even existed. I have to search for their content because it’s never in my recommended videos. It’s like YT just decides it no longer wants you to watch certain content.

I have noticed this as well. It's like it goes in waves. Sometimes you have to search for a channel that you watch pretty regularly. I think it really only keeps showing your top 10 or so. So channels that don't post very often get screwed unless they are typical viral channels.

Hey guys. I’ve been a subscriber for quite some time and enjoy the content. If I had one suggestion I would say do more videos of taking the live edge slabs and making river tables, charcuterie boards and other wood/epoxy pieces. Go from milling, drying to creating.

Sorry to hear of these challenges, Zoe. I've been hearing this from quite a few content creators, namely, that KZbin has changed the algorithm and killing them in views/revenue. That is sad. What I find equally bad is that they are really promoting negative content. Not that the content itself is, but that the titles are. I'm looking at all the videos listed on the right hand side, and they are nearly all negative - people are being shocked by something or using the wrong tool or the problems with something. KZbin needs to promote more positivity than this!

Oh - and one suggestion. Maybe shorter videos help? I enjoy your videos more when they aren't much over about 10-12 minutes (and more likely not to view when they are - tbh, there is only so much slicing of logs that can capture my interest).

Yes we couldn’t agree more. I don’t know why KZbin wants to promote terrible people rather than hard working nice people. But if I go out and do pranks to people trying to enjoy their shopping in Walmart, KZbin will send it out like wildfire. The algorithm is seriously messed up.

Hi, I would like to start by saying it's nice to see a woman in the world of woodworking. The first video of yours that I viewed you were making a wood and epoxy charcuterie board that had gun shells in the epoxy. That was a cool and informative video. While it is interesting to see what beautiful slabs of wood come off your saw it's kind of boring. Maybe you should shorten the amount of time spent sawing the wood and show us what you make with that piece of wood as you did in the video where you cut a beam somebody brought to you and made a bench out of it. I would like to see you making the products that you sell. If you can show me some of your creativity maybe it will inspire me and elevate my level of woodworking. I think that is why a lot of people what these videos by you and others. Don't get me wrong you produce a lot of beautiful slabs but when you are at the saw it would be nice to hear why you cut a particular piece of wood in a particular way like the crotch log in this video.

Just to add a comment for the Algorithm. The aroma of Camphor always takes me back about 60 years. My Grandparents had a Potbellied Stove in the middle of their living room for heat. In the dead of winter, my Grandmother always had a little tin of Camphor oil on top of the stove. No one got colds or coughs after a visit with Granny and Pop. 😍😍

I enjoyed the Safari vids more than most of the wood cutting. I'm sure you are aware a large chunk of your audience is here to see Zoe. You might try mixing up other content with Zoe. Working out, at the shooting range, jet ski, water ski, fishing. There is lots you can add.

Been sub for over 2 years and yea I agree with some folks I would say make 5 videos of different type of content and with better good angles and see how those do and keep following the algorithm type of content based on views and likes repeats. On of my favorite was the worlds biggest Purple Heart table and the slabs grandberg 60 there’s a few more but you get it.

I don't know much about how to the youtube algo works, but you said it helps if people watch the full videos. Would it do better to cut the length of the videos down to 1/2 or something so that a higher % of minutes get seen per video? Very few people are going to leave a video on for almost 20 minutes unless its something totally new or its just background noise. You could still shoot the same amount of footage and just do different edits (one video with no talking, one thats more about teaching, etc) and see if any of those new shorter forms do better than another.
